BeastX and (bad?) castle link?
Quick question: recently reconfigured wiring on my 500/BeastX with ICE75. I have the castle link permanently installed so I can quickly get data logs after a flight. I put it all back together and the BeastX fails to initialize properly (very mushy, uncoordinated movement of the swash, never get the quick up/dwn swash confirmation).
Played with all electronics in the system. Nothing helped until I just took the Castle Link out of the system (I double and triple checked it was not cross-polarized). Do Castle Links just go bad????? Thx, freaks. |

This might not be of much help to you, but I can confirm that I have no problems with my CC100 and BeastX with the Castle Link permanently connected.
Let us know more detail on how you've got it all hooked up, and maybe someone can spot what's going on with your's - it should work. To check if the Castle Link is bad, try it connected to the ESC only.

bad link?
Good thought... I did actually connect it just to the ESC and couldn't get the USB to even recognize it. Just more evidence (to me anyway) that it has somehow gone bad.
Thx for your input |

setup
To answer the question about how it's all hooked up: it's just typical esc to link junction with one part of the Y going to the Rx and the other for quick connect data downloads. Again, when I just went straight from ESC to Rx (no link in the loop) everything works fine. Install the link back in, Beastx won't initialize and I can't even get a connection through the USB.
Correction on the earlier post: link to ESC without Rx did finally hook up via USB but would only work maybe 2 out of 5 times. I would have to unplug and plug several times and then it did establish a link to the software. |
