Default NEHC 2013 Heli Phenomenon Sept. 13-15 Mansfield MA

2013 Heli Phenomenon

Fri. Sept. 13th – Sun. Sept. 15th
MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

We will have much more information in the following weeks so save the dates and check back here for updates.

Last year was a big success with over 150 registered pilots, a world class group of sponsored pilots, terrific night flying, "wreck the raptor" , over $10,000 worth of raffle prizes courtesy of our sponsors. We have space for RV’s (no hookups), hundreds of spectators, and hundreds of dollars donated to Fisher House.

The location will be the same as the last 5 years. The entrance to the field is located across the street from 408 Elm St., Mansfield, MA 02766.
There is a map on the NEHC web site www.Nehelicrew.com and we will be posting more information there as well.

We have one spot left for the 3D flight school before the Phenom. This is a two day class featuring Todd Bennett and Jason Krause as instructors. With a max of 8 students you get lots of personalized instruction and lots of time on the buddy box with these two great teachers. The class is $400 for both days.

We are also going to have a less formal day of buddy boxing with Jason, Todd and Tim Jones. A full day of buddy boxing with the pilot of your choice (or all three) is $250. There are still a few spots left for this too.

If you are interested in the class or buddy boxing, please contact us at: info@nehelicrew.com

Here’s the schedule for a whole week of flying!
Tue 9/10: Class day 1
Wed 9/11: Class day 2
Thu 9/12: Buddy Box day
Fri 9/13: Phenomenon
Sat 9/14: Phenomenon
Sun 9/15: Phenomenon

Default Todd Bennett Class

I just want to put in a plug for the Todd Bennett class at NEHC this year. I took the Todd Bennett class last year and it has changed the hobby for me. I was a little apprehensive about taking the class at first because I could barely do a tail-in hover and I had been flying r/c helis for almost a year by the time I took the class, but was self-taught for the most part. By the end of the second day, Todd had me flying circuits and doing beautiful banked turns. Also, as a bonus, he taught me some basic aerobatics - flips and rolls. My confidence soared. Yes, I did crash the week after the class showing off for my father-in-law, but I just picked up another heli and tried the maneuver again. Todd's instruction gave me the confidence to try things on my own without fear of crashing. In fact, I am now working on backwards flight, inverted hovering, and autos. So, if you are a beginner and think that Todd's class may be too advanced for you - it is quite the opposite.

On the other hand, there were very advanced pilots in our class and Todd was able to greatly improve their skills and technique in the advanced maneuvers.

This is a great opportunity to work with incredible instructors and you will not regret it! That is why I jumped at the opportunity to take the class again this year.

The price is $250 for the whole day.

And the Phenom starts the next day!
