I believe that is a V1 canopy.

I see a lot of guys are using the Hyperion DS09's on cyclic. How do they compare to the HS45hb's?? I've always used the 45's but they only seem to last very few flights before they burn out & begin twitching in flight. I get 3 45's for only a little more than just 1 hyperion so they're pretty expensive. Do they have HS65 longevity as they just last forever. Oh mines a V1 so limited options.

Here's my Gaui 200 V1. Bought it about 3 years ago used and have been adding to it since.
The guy before me had all stock setup with Hobby King HK401B gyro, JR DS285's tail servo, 12A Gaui esc with 3800KVA motor and I believe a 10 or 11 tooth pinion. He was running 3s batteries Since then I've added the Bobby Watts integrated tail assembly, Z-Power 5150kva motor with 15 tooth pinion, 18A esc, 2s batteries, spartan quark gyro, TREX 205mm carbon fiber blades, Canomod canopy, carbon fiber skids and boom and tail supports, carbon fiber tail servo rod with JR DS290G tail servo. I kept the HS-45HB servos for cyclic, added the V2 main gear assembly, different flybar paddles ad tail blades. Next to do is change out the connectors with the 3 pin micro deans and hyperion 1.8mm bullet connectors at the esc/motor connection. Getting very close to getting this bird in the air and been putting it together as I find the time and do the read ups on the goods. Maybe on the to do list after I test fly this bird is changing out the HS-45's to HS-65's, Castle Creations 25Amp esc and the Align 205mm main blades. |

Nice build! I've used that JR servo for the tail before-- works great. Where are you hiding that Quark?

Thanks,
The gyro is about an inch behind my walkera pro Rx. Trying to set up the head last night for correct and equal high and low pitch but something is out of wack. I adjusted my servo arm links about 1.42mm longer than indicated in the manual in order for the swash not to make contact with the hub in cyclic then adjusted my other arms in equal lengths accordingly in order to get parallel. My pitch at 50% throttle is couple degrees off zero and is about 11.5 on the high and 7 degrees or so on the low. I guess I'll try going back to the manual indicated lengths and see if that helps. Any tips or tricks? I've already watched all the videos or atleast I think I have. I may end up going with the longer flybar as well since I've heard this bird can be pretty tricky to hover. |

You wont get HS65's in a V1 frame. I've tried & they are too big as are HXT900's. The HS65 case is too fat so although you can get one in you wont get the 2nd one in.

Thanks for that info. I'll see how the 45's hold up but maybe the ds09's. The HS-45's are a decent servo by what I hear. They sure are much less expensive than the 65's or 09's.

A 'LOT' less expensive BUT i have gone through a fair few as the motors seem to burn out quick & then they constantly jitter in flight making it fly like a bag of nails. I'm looking at alternatives like the 09's but they'll cost me £75 for 3 & i'm not willing to spend that amount.

You can further reduce the swash pitch channel to reduce the total pitch in your head to mellow things out. Same for Aerilon and Elevator channels-- you can increase or decrease the range to speed up or slow down roll and flip rates. Lemme know if that works, Chief PS, long flybar plus stabilzer weights will make it pretty stable for hovering, but not that great for flying. Note, be SURE to add the stabilizer weights-- if you don't the longer flybar will just speed up the cyclic response and it will actually be harder to fly. Once you get that down, you'll probably want to go back to the short flybars with standard weights to get crisp response for tossing it around.

BHCheiftain,
It worked. Thanks again for the info. Now time to start flying and to see if I need to go with the longer flybar. |
