Default Is this normal?

Hi,
I have just upgraded my trex 600n servos to some jr8717hv servos.
Which are ALOT faster and stronger than my old futabas. And changed from the stock beastx tape, to some slightly thinner/firmer tape.
Today I took it for its maiden with this new setup, I was expecting to have to mess with the unit a bit because of the servo and tape change.
After a few changes made to the unit my 600 is flying like it never has before.
It feels like a whole new heli, I am we'll pleased!
But I'm just wondering if it is normal to have to go so low on pot 1 and 2 as I have never gone this low before.
Pot 1 is about 11 o'clock and pot 2 is about 10 o'clock?
But as I say it flys so well I can't see this being a problem..... Can it?

Oh and just to add, I'm using align fbl head, stock fbl dampers and a headspeed of 2150.

Default Is this ok?

I have just changed over my servos in my 600n to some jr8717hv. And changed the mounting tape on my ar7200bx.
The servos are a lot faster and stronger than my old futabas and the tape is a bit firmer.
So on my maiden today I tuned the unit for the new servos/tape and got the heli flying absolutely superb.
But now on my beastx I have the gain 1 pot to about 11 o'clock and gain 2 pot to about 10 o'clock. Is this ok for these to be this low?
I have never gone this low on the gain on any of my other helis and before the servo change the pots where both on about 1-2 o'clock.
It really is flying nice, but why has the gain needed turning down so much?

Thanks for the fast reply.

So having the low gains in pot 1 and 2 is not the same as having a low gain on a tail?

Pot 1 is gain, pot 2 is direct control,You did not have to lower gain that much.Pot 2 is more of a control preference..

If I had pot 1 any higher I was getting oscillations.
And pot 2 any higher would cause over control on the stops.
The only reason I ask if it's ok is because I see most people slightly increase there's rather than have to decrease.

From my experience you are fine at the settings you describe. If you are noticing bad behavior from the gain setting you could move the links in on the servo horn, this would allow you to increase the gain.I'ts all about finding the "happy place" between mechanical and electronic gain..

Ok thanks,
I think I will leave it as its flying so nice.
It's just strange though because it was set up the same way (6 degrees with blue light)with the same align fbl horns.
I guess it could be something to do with the increased speed of the new servos.

I have only used the align 610 and futaba 9252s.Do you notice better performance with the 8717s? I have been considering giving them a try..

Honestly they have just blown me away.
The difference to my old futaba s9255 really is night and day.
They feel a lot more precise and locked in.
