Default Any interest ?

Hypothetical question...

Would any of you be interested in a Kosmik 200HV with a modified metal case that included the motor mount such that there were no motor wires. There would be a custom wound Pyro 850 wired directly to the ESC.

The Kosmik would have a rail system sliding fasteners that bolt straight to the frame of the Banshee eliminating the existing ESC mount. In addition the integrated motor head would also eliminate the motor mount.

A higher gauge powerbus would come off the Kosmik internals without the weakness of servo connectors and go to a power bus for the servos.

This would only fit on a Banshee and no other heli.

If such a customized Kosmik case existed and both reduced overall weight and improved cooling effectiveness and provided better BEC current, would any of you find this interesting?

Strange idea.

My only concern would be:
- no more motor options from then on.
- what about Banshee HV2 BEC?

Could be very interesting though.

Maybe a custom GMauro motor I could probably send him the shell to wire up

I have a friend with a lot of milling equipment that is interested in working with me on this, but it is just in the early what if stages. It's not like I have a design or a prototype yet.

Interesting idea! I would be concerned heat from the motor would be conducted directly into the ESC. I think the concept would be more valid for the Speed Diabolo that shares a common level between ESC and motor rather than the angulation of the Banshee

The angle wouldn't matter expecially if the cases were custom per heli.

As long as the motor wire could be routed all is well with the world.

However, the issue that concerns me the most would be that in a crash the ESC and motor have enough mass that they could twist. In which case it would be very costly to repair this or require making the structure so rigid that there was a less risk of this happening but that would offset the weight savings.

Back to the drawing board...
