Still available from this site but pricey

My 300x is running the standard plastic head. Would the plastic head be ok with the extra power if just doing sport flying?

Good find on apparently the last Hyp 2213-3585s in the world. But yeah that's about 65 USD which is very pricey for this motor. For that price I'd just go for a Scorpion 2213-14 which can be had for 60 USD.

I'm still running the plastic grips as well. I actually have some aluminum ones, but I like the plastics better. No problems there.

Most definitely. The stock plastic head, grips, and swash are very strong and durable. I have three 300Xs (I just sold a forth one I had)... I have metal head/grips on one (running 4s) and plastic head/grips on the other two. I've had the plastic head and grips up past 4000RPM without issue.

+1

...with a splash of Lynx dampers, the stock makes the head feel loose...

That motor is rated 32 amps, you would probably want a 35 amp ESC. I like the Castle Talon.

Default 320H/250 CFX Main Motor Replacement?

My 250 CFX came with the same 320H motor as y'alls 300X

Do you know which motor may work in the 250's small frame without over-taxing its ESC? I am not sure...

-do you think a 39 gram 250-size motor Lynx 1911 on 3S would work? It is only 3600kv, yet similar weight, so i suppose i could try a different pinion to make up for rpm loss (the 320H is supposedly 41.5 grams stock)

The Lynx 2214 V2 looks way too large. Will likely tax the dual esc...

Yall have the most experience with similar motor replacement versus the 250 forum... not trying to get off-topic.

Thanks for any ideas

So what's the easiest hop-up motor to install/use that's available now? And does anyone have a link to get one?

Drop in a Lynx 4S 4100kV motor with 1350mAh 4S packs...

Do the math for pinion size (most likely will be a 10T)

http://www.jmrware.com/misc/hscalc.html

136T main gear will give 3200 @ 80 TC...3400 @ 85 TC

Jon, I don't have any large fields near me, I want to stick w/3s because the park I fly is not large enough for a larger heli than the 300x, or a super-charged 300x motor. I'm more thinking a better performing motor w/less slop/vibes that will drop in for the stock one, but massive power is not needed.

Scorpion 2213-14 is a solid motor for a 3s setup ungoverned with a 12t pinion. I ran one on my 300x (lynx frame) for hundreds of flights on 4s governed with a talon 35a at 3600 3800 & 4000 and it was great although it did just throw a magnet. I’ve since replaced it with the eox 2214, to match my Oxy3, which is def a bit stronger. Keep in mind if you go the scorpion route you’ll have to file/grind a flat on the shaft and they recommend lubing the bearings every couple of flights.

You can use the Lynx w/3S...adjust the pinion for the head speed You need

When I saw the words hop-up in You OP I thought 4S

I'm doing another 300x rebuild with all my spares... I can't find any upgraded motors anymore, either they are on back order or discontinued, anyone have some links to buy?

Old threads.
Wow!
Shadows and Dust!

I recently cleaned out my closet and found my old 300x stuff packed away in a random box.

I then logged in to see what was going on in the forum.
