Default YGE 120hv + Herc Super Bec

Would this be ok to use with the Goblin? Not sure what motor I will be using yet, but I only ever see people using the YGE 160hv in their dream setup. I am wanting to buy it in the xmas sales so need to now quick please. Please could someone also let me know what motor would be ideal with this setup if possible?

Im not 100% sure so don't go by what I say when it comes to this heli. Wait for someone else more experienced to chime in before you pull the trigger. With that said, I think it will be ok if you plan on a 12s setup.. You can't use more than a12s flight pack with the 120hv, and it does not work with the vbar gov. It's not that the yge is the dream esc. it's the fact that it can be ran at 14s, and has a built in phase sensor for the vbar gov. What is your planned setup for the goblin?

I am looking at the outrage servos the 9188 tail and the 9180 for cyclic. In terms of motor and esc I do not have a clue, I see so many options. I do not have much money but I am willing to buy quality equipment rather than the most powerful stuff. I really want to get a list going though so I know what to get in the sale if one comes up which should be any day now.

Since the goblin is a 700 im sure the outrage servos would work well. Answer these questions and the guys in this forum can give you all the answers you need..

1. Do you want to go 12,14, or 16s,
2. What is your flying style
3. What fbl controller do you want to use?
3a. If its a vbar do you plan on using the electric gov feature

Ok the sale came up 12.5% on everything took the plunge and ordered the 9188 tail, the x3 9180 for cyclic, YGE 120hv + P card and the herc super bec. I have a GT5 waiting also. I just need to buy the motor, the heli itself, Batts and whatever else might come up.

I am thinking one of the scorpion HKIII 4035 range motors?

The 120HV does work up to 14S and works fine with vbar gov when you run a magnet sensor on the main gear or an external phase sensor. External phase sensors have been hit or miss on my heli's, they can produce noise and sometimes its just bad sensor that another $15 replacement can solve.

I know the yge 120 hv works with the vbar gov and goes up to 14s. I was comparing a jive 120hv to a yge 160. I don't know why I did that when the title says yge 120hv. I guess I was so tired I saw the 120hv and started posting jive specs.. csdstudio can you list some motors that would work well for a sport flyer on 12s

700 size helis are awesome. Easy to see, powerful, and great presence in the air. I'm sure you will love it.

You want a motor in the 4035 series. Very efficient and yet still powerful when you need it.

the latest YGE don't need the sensor to work great with the VBAR gov., they are capable of putting the phase info out on the programming lead.

works great, no external sensor required at all

Can't remember which thread it was in, but it was in the yge forum. Something to do with the prog card and if it does something when programing.

I would have look at mine, however it caught fire last week during bench setup

There's a info in your package about how to deal with the phase-sensor. The only thing you have to do is build an adapter.
When programming an YGE,you're not allowed to use more than 6V from your BEC / batteries whatever...
I'm using a 160HV for my 700-class machine.

The website is wrong, the 120HV's and 160HV's that elektrorc - Pete is selling are VBar Compatible. The 120/160 was the first two YGE's that came out as VBar Compatible.
