Is anyone else having strange/mis-matching values in the movement speed display section?

I have gone through the entire setup as directed but with default flip/roll rate adjustment, my displayed movement speed is completely different for the two directions. For example using identical 60% flip and roll rate adjustments, at max elevator my flip rate command is 180 degrees/sec and at max aileron the roll rate command is 300 degrees/sec.

To get the command rates to match i have to use 100% flip rate adjustment at 55% roll rate adjustment.

Can someone please check theirs and let me know? I'm setting up on a stock 600EFL Pro.

Default Setting 8 degrees

OK, so I've been reading through all the screens and menus on V2.0 . The way I'm reading it it looks as if you keep your swash mixes as you have always had them for say 12 degrees cyclic and use the aileron and elevator travel limits to limit to 8 degrees. Can anyone that's performed the setup process confirm this? Will be performing update this weekend and just want to make sure I understand the process completely before starting. Thanks!

I'm getting exactly the same, I think its a software error, it could be just displaying the roll rate wrong? who knows, I guess we will soon see v2.1 to fix the bug.

See, everyone's getting confused. Are they really re-inventing their software without providing a decent manual?? :s

Thanks for letting me know, if this is a bug i'd be in for a nasty surprise with 100% and 55% flip/roll!

You need to use your swash mixing to get the amount of collective pitch you want and to get the 8 degrees of cyclic aileron and elevator. Don't use dual rates (set to 100%). Make sure you do all of this in the DIR setup mode.

The v2.0 software manual "Flybarless system settings" tab, will step you through what you have to do to get it right.

The travel limits are for binding. You shouldn't have to change any of the PC settings to do the gyro setup following the DIR mode setup.

Be very careful with the gyro direction settings. It's quite hard to tell which way the swashplate is tilting when you tip the heli. Tipping over after lift off is most likely the gyro direction not set correctly.

Also my gyro aileron and elevator directions are reverses to what they were with v1.2. Both were Nor before and both are Rev now, so don't be fooled by how your settings were before with v1.x

My gyro is mounted upside down.

That's fine. If you're happy with v1.2 then stick with it.

I wasn't and was just about to shelve my 3GX, because it flew no where near as good as my other FBL controllers. So I'm willing to give v2 a shot to see if there's a chance for the 3GX to stay on this heli.

I had no problems setting it up and now it's just a matter of playing with the settings. Just off to try some changes I just made.

I tilted forward and it IS the gyro reversed... Don't know how i missed that! I allready downgraded back to 1.2 though... maybe i'll give 2.0 a try again. How do I reverse the gyro?

There is a quick setup guide if you click the "instruction" button at the top of the page. Setup looks the same as before - just use 8deg instead of 11-14.

During the E.REV and A.REV setup steps. You have to tip the heli and make sure the swashplate moves in the direction to try and keep the swash level. If it does not tilt correctly you have to use the elevator (E.REV) or aileron (A.REV) stick to change the led colour.

Default 3GX Version 2.0 Manual Quick Setup Guide

Here is a copy of the 3GX V2.0 manual aka quick setup guide.

Theoretically all you need to do is the DIR setup, the Rudder setup and go fly.

I did notice that the collective setup is not covered in this guide. The software animations recomend the following:
__________________________________________________ _______________

1.Using 600EFL PRO as an example, the recommended pitch range±12°, maximum pitch range for advanced pilot shall not exceed ±13°.
2. Adjust the maximum collective pitch using the transmitter's swashplate mixing function (pitch swash AFR). Do not adjust individual servos endpoints through the servo ATV/AFR function. Should any changes made to the endpoints or subtrims on the transmitter in the future, the 3GX flybarless system initial setup must be performed again.
The recommended collective pitch range for various T-Rex helicopters:
(Collective Pitch Settings)
◎T-REX 250
With Emphasis On Stability : 12°
With emphasis on agility : 14°
◎T-REX 450
With Emphasis On Stability :12°
With emphasis on agility:14°
◎T-REX 500
With Emphasis On Stability :10~12°
With emphasis on agility :12~14°
◎T-REX 550
With Emphasis On Stability :10~12°
With emphasis on agility :12~14°
◎T-REX 600
With Emphasis On Stability :10~12°
With emphasis on agility :12~13°
◎T-REX 700
With Emphasis On Stability :10~12°
With emphasis on agility :12~14°

Default Aileron Elevator Pitch

I think this is new. I remember the aileron and pitch servos were interchangeable before...

1.Servo on right side of heli frame is AIL, middle is ELE, left side is PIT. Do not exchange AIL and PIT connections, otherwise some compensation feature may be reversed.
2.Confirm proper swashplate action with PIT, AIL, and ELE commands.
3. If incorrect movements or servo has no movement, please check servo connection to 3GX as well as radio control system.
