Looks like Align is really pushing the 3G unit now.

That looks like they settled on the overhead motor, to give more battery bay. I'd seen draft copies of both overhead and underside motor placements, with more people showing off the underside versions in various discussions.

Wonder how the motor compares to a Neu 1900 series or similar.

Hard to tell from that, but is there no floorboard at all? Or an aluminum plate like KDEs?

Surprised to see a Deans hanging out there. The Align kits have been coming bare of connectors, so it's just down to personal choice, but I wouldn't like to hook up 12S or 8AWG wire to Deans.

At the prototype stage, there's probably a lot that's not ready for release. Get the rest of it all done, then ship with canopies that say 700 E or something. They have the nitro canopy standoffs on the non-nitro frames, so the only thing to change is artwork. This is a better manufacturing decision than requiring different 600 N and 600 E canopies. I also expect they'll go with black anodized or enameled, or an even finer mirror finish, on the motor's shell when they're done.

I wish align would give us the option of just buying the airframe itself without the electronics.

Do they have an HV ESC?? From the testing videos I saw of their 700E, they are running either the Kontronik 80 or 120 JIVE.
