I'm really loving the 9t, on my bl setup( helimax inrunner /esc combo from tower)
I had a extended boom and the sr120 tail, but I went with a shorter boom Probably just a bit longer than stock, and now my flips and piros are clean. My hyperion 240mah still giving me 3 min flight times, great power too. This heli has been running strong for a while now, I'm gona try the hp05 soon. |

I'm running the SR 120 motor with a cut down SR 120 tail blade. Boom is 140mm including the 2mm flats on each end. Just long enough where the blades won't hit, with the bigger motor, you don't need the really long boom.
Just got done flying (hovering really, in my apartment) a pack through with the 9T, and so far I like it much better. Torquier, and less sensitive to pitch changes since it doesn't bog the motor. Can't wait for the indoor fly in this weekend, thanks guys. |

How much do you think the headspeed drops with the 9t? Did you run a full pack through it? Time/ Batt temp? Thanks B |

According to the caution thread on gearing, headspeed drops to about 4950RPM, still plenty IMHO. I'll time a pack for you this evening, and check the temps on everything, as with the 12T my ESC and motor, and pack were all pretty warm. EDIT: Something I falied to mention was that I no longer have any cogging on start up with the 9T. That tells me the 12T is just a bit much for the ESC and motor to overcome initially. Well, I got around to this tonight after direct wiring my tail (soooo much better). I got 4:29 of indoor hovering / pitch pumps /etc at 100% throttle in IU, comparted to around 3:00 before. My ESC was much cooler, but the pack was pretty warm since I flew it to LVC. Pack was at 3.66v when put on the charger. I'm going to set my timer to 2:30 and fly it hard for that time, and then another :60 of circuits and such. If that works out, I've gained a full minute per pack.

That sounds good. I think some of my nanotechs are getting tired. Mine would fall out of the sky dead at around 2 mins. Still waiting for my pinions to arrive. In the meantime ive been using the two batt setup. Get about 4 mins of Hard flying and the battes come down around 3.7. Sure can feel the extra wieght though

My pinions arrived today along with my hyperion 550s.I installed the 10t. First flight (hover session) was 6:30 with NO bogging at all at 85% pitch!
Pack and motor came down cool and at 3.81 Way more flyable now and all the wierd shaking issue are gone. A little disapointed with the big drop in headspeed as ts no longer a"monster" haha Still WAAAY more power then my c05 though! |

Update:
Finally got a good day of flying in with this thing! I am loving the 10t and dont thing i will be switching to the 9t. Flys like a much bigger heli then it is.I am getting 5:30 of hard 3d with the hyperion 550s. 120sr tail is working perfect with the cut down tail. I am getting no wag. From high altitude i can punch full negitive collective and slam full positve and it dosent budge! Only downsides to this is one, it really takes a beating on crashes. I never "shattered" a blade in a crash before this thing. And two now i have to upgrade my co5m cause when i fy it it feels way underpowered! B |
