Good luck...and don't go back, use your DFC head.

Default First Crash Report...

Yesterday I had my first crash with the DFC head...

Here is what broke...

Broke the metal "turnbuckle" style thing that threads into the ball link, and the long arm thing...

I turned my feathering shaft into a pretzel...
Boom & TT
Main shaft
blades
stripped main gear, and the pinion moved down the motor shaft? guess that's a by product of the slant cut gears?
Canopy had minor damage, nothing needing CA just more dings?

Things that I was pleasantly surprised about...

Servos seem fine...
Grips are fine, and bearings are smooth as can be...
Head block is still true as can be...
Swash plate seems fine...

I was worried that those parts might suffer in a DFC crash, but the double threaded link thing seemed to absorb most of the energy of the crash.

My crash was pretty hard, I fought it to the ground, so it went in under power

Hello. i have just start building an pro 450. i was also buying the 3gx system for it. But like other bigger heli, sometimes the ball is placed in another hole when using flybarless. , this is not mentioned any place for the 450 , should i use the standard hole for fl setup as for flybar.

I crash really hard withthe DFC head and I had no damaged. I hit asphalt and it was so hard that the blades split in half. The blades peeled back lick a sardine can. I thought for sure that the head would be damaged but it wasnt.

Default Help! DFC ball link problems

so twice in the last two days one of the ball links on my dfc head and swash pulled free from the threaded turnbuckle thingy ma jigger fortunately it happened both times after quoting down when I hit throttle hold just a couple feet above the ground. Bummed me that the heli fopped around and ate a brand new set of Maverick G5 blades.. But could have been worse if it would have happened in the air. The first time it happened I put a brand new set on with the ball links and the aluminum arm/turnbuckle thing (sorry the correct term escapes me now) but they don't seem to thread on very well at all.. You have to effectively force them on while turning and get the threads started but then they never really feel quite secure. Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks for the help!

Is the 450 PRO DFC newer than 450 PRO V2? talking about the heli itself, kit or complete.
If the 450 PRO V2 is newer then why can't I find it with DFC?

The DFC is a new upgrade for the 450 pro v2. I doubt they will ever sell a 450 with the DFC head as standard as there is more money in it for them if they sell the helicopters that can be improved with optional expensive upgrades.

Three crashes and my Dfc head is not usable any more. After making repeated loops and coming in to find my blade tracking off and plastic coming out of the links threads I don't trust it .My blade grips have a groove where the blade left a mark and the center portion is no longer true on the shaft. Needs a pinch style to clamp to shaft otherwise it gets loose pretty quick. Also have the Tarot Dfc head on another heli with about the same time and crashs and it's still smooth and true.To fix my Ailgn Dfc cost about what the complete Tarot Dfc head cost.I do like the Dfc head performance but it's really a small change.
