How does the power compare to the 915 etc?
And how does the size (diameter especially) of the HP08 compare?

Does it fit the plastic frame without too much cutting?

Nope it takes about the same mods as the HP05S. I tested the stock frame with just the rewound HP08 and OMG the frame flexed and shook like crazy just from the motor speeding up and slowing down That thing should have crazy power in an mCP X

Yes Amp, I did the rewind and it can even be way more powerful but the trade off is current vs battery capability vs weight vs flight time. The data will determine what is best. BTW Papat did the engineering on this and it worked out to be a worthwhile collaboration as many folks are enjoying the benefits.

This rewind is four turns of three strands of 32 AWG in a Delta configuration which gives 18,680 KV. This is the same rewind that I use in my Hybrid 4G6 FBL helis which gives ~250 grams of thrust

What motor (with rewind if necessary) would be the most powerful light motor?

I still can't find any advanced 3D pilots to tell me how much power is really needed for 3D and how much of this is just more power for the sake of more power

I just want a motor that gives the mcpx enough power to do all the maneuvers my big helis can do while remaining as light as possible

You ask alot of very specific questions but I don't see much given back here

Perhaps you help on a bunch of other forums?

Buy one of the motors and start testing!!

By the way the dimensions of both the HP08 and the 915 can easily be found on the net.

Read plenty of your posts so this one isn't being focussed on.

I spent half an hour creating a motor bible and volunteered to update it daily with any info people would like to share as an attempt to give something back but nobody bothered

The limitation of the MCPX is not the main motor but the tail. We now have the best solution at present for tail control and it will allow most maneuvers. Any good BL motor that can product about 6900 rpm will be the ticket add to it a CC 10amp programmable ESC in GOV mode and your loven life. I believe the best choice with consideration for weight is the HP06v2 16200KV motor. Its a screamer.

keep in mind the tail only works well in one direction, the other direction relies on stored energy.

Maybe a post with a poll? I can't do all the possible maneuvers so can't say.

My mCP X with HP05S can fly horizontally with the nose up for ~30' or more when I bail from a botched maneuver. I'm only running HP08S and 8T pinion with an OS 400mah 20C battery with XP-7A and the Steve. I haven't opted for my rewind yet in the mCP X....I'll let Pete report on that.
