Yea I saw the vid many times, if the gyro doesn't initialse no vid I saw can help me probram this gyro.
Spektrum and Futaba work in very different realms you know. If things don't work out,
I'll pass it along and get another brand.

I'm not sure that you are actually in servo selection mode. The double flashing when you move the rudder stick is a feature of the gyro that indicates when it is recieving rudder input.

Have you maxed out your gyro gains both ways before attempting to enter servo selection? Having the gains too low (often this means operational gains!) can mean that the gyro is not seeing you flip between rate/HH, and wont enter servo selection mode... just remember what you had them set at originally!

If after this you are really struggling to get into servo selection, you can always use the bind plug method:-

I tried Iankey's link, read a bit and deceided to try this in the gyro menu ;
1) 100% rate
2) 0
3) 0
And it worked I think, or did it ?
it gave me 2 blinks, right stick gave me 3 blinks
right stick again gave me 4 blinks
left stick till I got 1
toggled the switch, it did not become solid
unpluged everything, reset everything, first thing it did is give me 1 blink.
Went throught the process.......toggled the switch, still did not become solid.
Can I suppose that it is set for "normal servo" since the first thing it does is blink once instead of 2 blinks like it did before

What are these blinks for, got up to 4. For setting I guess but setting what ?

All inputs are welcomed,

C'mon mate, have you not read the manual? You really need to do this stuff!

Page 6 servo selection. Determines the frame rate for a given servo:-

http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/d...user_guide.pdf

The number of flashes indicate which frame rate you have selected to drive the servo. The manual mentions 3 types of frame rate available, but there has been a firmware update to include the option for driving 960usec/333Hz servos since (fourth flash):-

http://www.spartan-rc.com/resources/...q.php?topic=67

Hope that helps.

I do not have the manual in hand, the info I had is that I needed 1 blink for the servo my heli uses which is normal. Got this thing yesterday from a friend, give me a break, mate.
Some people catch on faster than others, I'm one of those that may need more time than others.

English is not my primary language, if the manual was written in french, I wouldn't be having this conversation or rather monologue

Hey, didn't mean to sound harsh, just you would presume if you have the gyro, you have the manual! At least you have a copy now, and with that and the Finless vids should provide you with the info you need. Fire away if you need any more advise.

I'm usually more discret with words, kinda pissed.

I've tried all that I know (which is not much) or what people have suggested, the thing just won't bind.

I changed the gains up and down, from one switch to another. I'm out of ideas.

This thing may end up in the 4 sale forum pretty soon, if I don't get it to work.

Nothing in the threads concerning this situation or a similar one, can't believe I'm the only one.

When you flick between the rate and HH does the light on the Spartan change (don't touch the sticks) ? In rate mode the blue LED will be off, in HH it is solid blue (it fdouble blinks with rudder input).

I ask because I have seen a few times, and am guilty of this myself of thinking I was switching between rate and HH mode but I wasn't because I was in throttle hold I stopped assigning my gyro gain to flight modes because of this, I now have my gyro gain tied to a switch so i know EXACTLY what my gyro is set to.

Yes the light changes when I flick from rate to HH
when I plug the heli on HH it blinks twice its not solid
with rudder input left is solid, right blinks twice

I was searching some info on Futaba & Spartan. Came across a guy who could not get access to his servo selection (well, lookadat). The other guy gave him more less the numbers I had, so no biggy. Set his numbers (0,100,0) got the same result, zip !!!

Just out of play I set 100% AVC + 100% normal + 0 on the third setting, was not overly surprised when the gyro came up with 2 blinks, left stick to 1 blink, toggled the switch to confirm, to my surprised, the blink went solid.
Really don't know what I did different this time

Set the 8 degree of pitch on the tail blades & kept the rest for tomorow.

Everyone, thank you very much,
specially you, mate.

Double flash happens both in operating mode (stick not centered), setup mode (endpoint adjustment, servo type). This can be confusing if you are unsure whether setup mode is active or not. With the Quark gyro it is more clear as setup is always violet colour and operating mode is blue.

The bind plug method may be easier to use if your gyro firmware is new-ish. Please see here:

Thanks for the reply.

But what I was looking for is simply a correct way to set the gain setting in a sequence that would make the 7C bind with the gyro, that's all.
Lots of info for Spektrum on the matter but practically none for Futaba and other brands.
