does synergy have a belt upgrade? my dad really despises toque tube. He would rather see me buy a belt drive heli.

Hey sorry I missed this thread! The E7SE is a brilliant machine. These torque tubes are actually a new design that took over for the original belt models. If your dad dislikes torque tubes because of a bad experience from another model I can promise you this is not your average TT design. It is very strong, the TT gears are all CNC cut delrin and there are no runout problems causing vibrations. No molded plastic gears anywhere on this heli. The rotor spins more freely than belt helis, it flies very smoothly and autos like a beast. In the situations I've had where I stuck the tail rotor in the dirt the bevel gears were all fine... it's the autorotation gear that got beat up and it's very easy to swap out. As said the heli is light weight, responsive, and an absolute joy to fly. You won't find a friendlier bunch of folks willing to help than the Synergy family.

You came at the perfect time! He just didn't like tt. Idk why, he dosnt fly helicopters but has an idea set in his mind. I'm glad to hear they designed differently and made very strong. I am extremely excited for this machine. Hopefully I can order it soon. I absolutely love all the support. It is crazy!

Also, HD'S website lists a N5c eta 1/7. If more kits are arriving maybe they aren't dropping Synergy.

I was the same way, Belt drive only(as you can tell by my sig) had bad experience w/GauiNX4 and converted it to belt. Checked out a friends E5 and got1 for myself. Then a second stretched! THe synergy TT is a great mesh, well built, Great quality machine. Synergy only TT in my fleet

The e5 has 700class tt gears in it ...

I have heard the front gear is a fuseable link ad it is easyer to swap out and cheeper .. but it takes a crash to make it let go

don't ask me how i know. i have never had the tube itself fail, even in a hard landing that takes out a gear, the tube is SOLID. most crashes will simply take out the weakest point, the front spur gear. every now and then you will take out a transmission gear.
Keep in mind, this is ONLY in a crash situation. Normal use, with a tiny bit of grease, these gears run forever

last summer i had a few friends over to fly. I was trying some funnels, new to me, i went down in the bean field from about 50 ft. walked out and found the heli, made sure it looked alright and flew the rest of the tank out. when i was flying i heard a slight nock, when i landed i discovered the front tail drive (spur) gear had 4 teeth missing. I flew 3d almost 5 min like this, landed safely

I have already 50 hard flights on this Heli, with many flights at 2000 HS and even at 2150 without any issues.

I also was preferring the belt design, and whenever I was looking for a new heli I only considered the belt helis. I have this strongly backed up by 300+ flights on the Diabolo without a single fail. So I considered the belted helis must always the heli of choice.

And now after owning and flying the E7SE, i realised that the TT is not a weak design, specially in this heli. I am using the same power house (pyro 750 and kosmik 160) in both my Diabolo and E7SE and honestly cannot feel a difference when flying. The only thing that may "bother" you is that you have to wait for a good 30 seconds to spool down. One thing you cannot see in a belt heli.

I may not have been only 1.5 years in this hobby but I have owned and flew mcpx/blade450/trex450/kds550/logo600/tsa700/Diabolo/7hv/e7se/chronos (wallet ) , and I can honestly say that e7se is one of the best. The simple design, high quality parts and fewer part counts makes it a keeper.

So you can't go wrong with this heli

Same experience here. Very smooth and efficient.

+1

I belly landed my E5s hard on pavement with a good bit of forward speed, stripped off the landing gear, main blades, most of the tail fin and took the tail blades almost down to the roots. The TT and all the gears survived unscathed. I even was able to cut the TT out of the boom which was slightly kinked and it was just fine.

For me the spur gear had a couple tight spots when I first assembled it but after 5 or 10 flights it smoothed out nicely. Like JadAl mentioned, it ta long time to spin down after a flight. I usually throw some pitch in to slow the blades so the plankers at my field don't get too impatient

i had a very similar experience too. i lost 2.5 teeth on the rear mushroom gear and it flew just fine a few flights until i figured out what the clicking sound i was hearing was. i doubt it would have lasted forever, being that it was making a little noise, but it did last long enough for me to figure it out!

Just throwing my .02 in; let me preface by I love my E5s great heli. Belt-vs-tail is an on going debate I have both and they both have advantages, belts sustain 90% of crashes, torque tubes dont so there is the cost factor and re-build time, touch down a tail and your replacing umbrella gears, touch your tail with belt drive your wiping off the blades.
The Synergy helis are all torque tube and great helis, but if given the choice I would go belt, not an option.
So then there is the discussion of which rotates longer, autos...yes torques do produce less friction... stick control fly one heli all the time and you will auto a belt as well as a torque.
So bottom line buy a heli you like and fly the crap out of it.
Btw my best auto heli is a light weight logo belt drive
Just my $.02

cool thanks. I think i am ok with having tt on this helicopter. i dont plan on being a two inch off the deck pilot and hitting my tail too often.

on another note. is the white and blue canopy hard to see? it seems (to me) that that would be pretty hard to see. Also anyone have a favorite dealer with alot of selection for canopies?
