I have every manual of my helis/electronics in the bathroom magazine rack. They all have been read at least a dozen times.

Oh wait they don't say a thing about it.

Nor do they include or refer you back to an older version of the manual which happens to cover it.

Heaven forbid someone ask a technical question about a product in the RC Electronics Support section of the forum.

Lucky for me someone did so I was able to find it with the search function and didn't have to risk getting flamed for asking.

Well it's in my V3 manual. Maybe I have a later version than yours. Page 36, content as follows copied from my version:

Factory Reset:
To reset the MICROBEAST to factory settings, you can, at any setup menu point, push down the button for at least 10 seconds until the LEDs A - N and J quickly blink one after the other to confirm the reset.
Please note that any previous configuration is now deleted. Do not attempt to fly the helicopter without...............................

Cheers

I read the manual about 3 times before attempting to setup the beastx. Wish my g/f came with a v1 manual sometimes!

Is the PDF manual online what you get with the ar7200bx? If so I'm going thru it now in hopes of Getting mine soon.

I think the point of the OP is that some guys never pick up the manual at all!

It is one thing to put zero effort into something, and another to try and figure it out yourself, but yet still have questions. I don't think any of us (ok, most of us!) object to questions that try to clarify some things.

I usually read the manual even before I get the piece. Yet with the BeastX manual, I still couldn't understand the difference between transmitter tail gain and the heading hold gain (parameter D). However I asked a question in this forum about it, and got several answers which cleared up the difference.

On the other hand occasionally you get questions like "Can I transfer my Blade 4503D transmitter settings (a Flybar heli) over to my new Blade 450X (Heli with the AR7200Bx)?" Obviously this guy hadn't even cracked open the first few pages of his heli manual to understand the AR7200BX needs a different swash setup! Those types of posts can be annoying.

what ever happened to (no such thing as a dumb question) ?
I believe if someone wants to learn they should be able to ask. no matter how dumb or annoying the question seems to some of us.

I usually read the manual before purchasing a product. In the case of the Microbeast, I read the manual to help a friend that was just starting out. I never intended to buy one. After reading the manual I had to have one placed a few days later.

well sometimes a quick glance at the manual and there would be no need for some of the questions, i think people just like to post new threads instead of doing the work and reading thru the manual or the forum

That should be, no such thing as a dumb question, as long as you have read the instructions first. Then come and ask a specific question.

I think Helifreak has a atmosphere thats pretty rare on a web forum of this size (or any size really). Overall the arguments and discussions going on here are peanutts compared to just about any other size. How often do you see someone type something like Go read to manual moron, or USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION RTARD? Overall, unless you come off completely wrong you will get a helpfull civil reaply to any and all post and questions.

Do this date I dont think a single person on the forum has commented on my less than optimal spelling, whiche is also rare considered my spelling my high numbers of post.

why are people getting uptight over this, if you read the manual and still have a question then post it, im sure you will get an answer and never be told to go read the manual

I always read the manual, however, that being said there are times when my old brain just will not compute the data that my old eyes are reading, so I come in here and ask my questions. If those questions happen to offend anyone or make them shake their head then maybe they need not bother to read my threads

I thought the V1 manual of the beast was a bit confusing at times. Mostly due to some poor grammar and run on sentences. They seem to have really cleaned it up in the later versions. But all in all, it got the job done.

I find the electronics setup portions of the Align build manuals to be the WORST!

Default RTFM - then ask questions!

I'm an obsessive pre-reader of manuals etc. I always download and read all about products I'm interested in buying. As someone said earlier its half the fun of buying stuff.

Even so it's possible to mis-read or misunderstand even a releatively well-written & comprehensive manual like the BEASTX manual. I did so, and asked a 'stupid' question, and recieved a helpful and courteous response. And this is one of the good things about Helifreak.

As an airline pilot, reading manuals comes naturally to me and I can't imagine not reading my aircraft manual or understand every part of it before I go flying. Yet there is a percentage of people who spend inordinate amounts of cash on a RC heli but never read the manual or try to read up on a little flight theory before that first flight . Its not life or death like in the real thing but it can certainly save you a lot of money and repairs in the long run.
