Download this program and it automatically sets the time/date from your pc to the camera.

BTW.. this is my latest method of mounting the camera.. almost totally vibe free! Using Zeal tape.. that green thick jelly like stuff...

This video if you want to see how vibe free it is

Nitro smoke has a lot of oil, and the keychain camera's lens is recessed in a way that makes it impossible to clean. It partly depends on how they fly-- normal upright flight pushes the smoke down and away from the canopy, but most people start their rotors with some negative pitch which pulls the smoke upward. It is just a $15 camera, so you can decide if it's worth it.

Hey Sly,
It's fun doing the pip with the keychain cam. What I like to do is drop the pip a little lower to get rid of the date. Also it you cut the sound from the on board cam, you can hear the blade noises better. Here is one that I did. The ground cam was an iPhone, so no zoom but it still was fun to play with.

Default FYI

HD keychain cam now available!

I just received my latest keychain cam.. its HD! Maybe not 'true' HD but much better picture/resolution than the previous cams most have used on this thread. 1280x960 video!

I just took a test video... quite nice! I'll post a flight video next week.. just letting you all know that there is a better camera out there now.

Here's the seller I bought from..

That's a great link Johnny. Very interesting. I'll do some filming with both and see if there is really any difference.

OK. Heres my first video with my new "HD" (higher resolution at least) keychain camera... does it look any better? Or is it just upconverted? I'm not overly pleased. (on a plank btw)

The stuttering is probably my microSD card is too slow. I need to update that.

Slyster,... here's an interesting site on these keyring cameras.
http://www.chucklohr.com/808/
There is also a little download prog., for changing the date on them, buried in the site somewhere. It's called 808setclock, and works for all the variants of these cameras.
Any relation to Rick Lohr I wonder?

Here is my make shift mount. Just some aluminum stock I had. I haven't done the frame mod for my 500's 6s battery yet, so no canopy for it isn't a big deal for now. Thinking of making bracket off the skids for when I do get to put the canopy on though

surprisingly not too bad. I though it might get amplified being out that far but still tinkering. I'm thinking of putting a small piece of closed cell foam between the battery and bracket to eliminate more. It is very solidly mounted so I might try different tensions... all in all, works well. I"m going to do one more test on it tonight and I will post video to show vibs

This one works much better! I shortened the bracket by half, and used 1/4 in. closed cell foam under the bracket and under the cam.
