Diabolo 700 Landing Gear Alternatives
I know someone who has used the Trex 700 landing gear with success, but what about other options.
I wonder if anyone has tried the Min Air Tuf Strut landing gear? I don't dislike the stock, just looking for composite alternative to the metal. |

I would think just about anything so long as it has a flat area wide enough for the bolts.
I have some Trex 700 skids on my Raptor gasser and they are definitely wide enough and should be easy to fit. I like the way the Minicopter struts lift the back a bit which keeps the tail well out of the grass, I suppose a similar effect could be created by using something as spacers above the rear struts. Asthetically I don't think anything else is going to look as good as the stock ones :-) But I think lots of alternatives will fit. The Trex ones are definitely very tough and quite cheap.

Minicopter has some carbon skids and bows in different configurations.

A flying buddy over here was using the Logo 600 bows, cut at the ends, fronts shorter than the rears and the Minicopter skid pipes bolted on with the Minicopter brackets for a while. They looked pretty close to the stock Minicopter bows.

Yeah, I got a rash of crap from the factory is good enough elite when I bolted on a set of Trex 700 skids onto my own Tri a few years back. Many different styles will work quite easily with some easy modding. I still do like the stock metal bows, as they bend and can be easily worked back after a hard set down or mishap. But others will work well in a pinch.
