Default KDE Receiver Mount Upgrade

Well I think I screwed this one up. I got the upgrade along with several other upgrades but my receiver mount did not come with any screws. I "assumed" that the holes for the aileron servos were for 3mm screws and attempting to screw those in appears to have stripped the threads so the servos are not very secure. After doing this I looked at their web site to see if screws are included and I find this:

Includes:
- One (1) TREX 700E Series Aluminum Receiver Mount Upgrade
- Four (4) M2.5 x 0.45 x 14 mm Button Head Socket Head Cap Screws (Class 12.9 BP Alloy Steel)

So it looks like it was supposed to come with 4 M2.5 screws but there weren't any in the bag that I got. I sent KDE Direct an email asking if it was possible to exchange the one I have for a new one along with the correct screws but I haven't heard back. If they say no then I guess I'm out $115.00

Did any of you guys have any problems with this upgrade? I'm assuming you all got screws?

Tommy

BTW,
KDE started to forget to include something into the kit. It's not a big deal but anyway it's not good.
Ordered 3d bearing block (TBB) for my 700E it was fine, I installed it w/o any problem. But when I ordered the 2d kit of TBB, the ADHESIVE DRILLING TEMPLATE was missing, I was lucky that I still have the used template for drilling, otherwise I couldn't install or even I could lose up the frames.

I agree no big deal, email Patrick and I'm sure he'll take care of you. if you have smaller helis you'll be able to get those screws from the spare parts, anyway your heli is going to look HOT.

The screws aren't a big deal now that I know what size they are but what is a big deal is that the threads inside the receiver mount are now stripped from trying to use 3mm screws which means that I need to replace the whole thing or try to tap new threads into the holes but there isn't much metal there to play with. I'm still waiting to hear back from KDE to see if they'll swap it out for me. I'm really hoping that they'll be willing to swap it out since it's such an expensive piece and because of the fact that they dropped the ball on packing the correct screws with it. Crossing my fingers!

I just wanted to report that Patrick over at KDE repaired the threads and is sending the unit back to me free of charge along with the correct M2.5 screws for the servo mounts. Kudos to KDE and their merely excellent customer service

+1 I continue to be impressed with KDE's quality parts and customer service. I've emailed Patrick several questions over the years and have always received a prompt, helpful response. One more happy customer...
