My First Homemade Rc.Heli size600
Hi,
This is my first Homemade Rc.Heli size 600, i worked on it for few months, it is my graduation project from Cairo Uni Faculty of Engineering Aerospace department. it is not just a model, i could made all its calculations and evaluate its design parameters. I made a helicopter calculator to calculate everything for it and for any other Rc Heli. and a program on Matlab with all important helicopter equations. i will post all information you are interested in soon here. thank you... contact me here for quick information until i finish my post... photos are in attachments. |

Hi.
Your project looks awesome. I am curious what helicopter equations are you using. I am an engineer myself(electrical engineer) and I would like to understand the math and physics of the helicopter better. Cheers |

Sameh, glad to see you're still working on this. Have you flown it yet?

Cool build, looks like you are in the middle of BFE there. I'd love to hear more details on the flight control software and to see it fly.

Very interesting - I dont see a main gear -
also the the tail prop doesnt appear to be variable pitch - so how are tail kicks controlled......

Cool, lets see the flight video
Why are the skids backwards?

With no visible main gear, I can only assume one of two things. 1) Direct drive main rotor. 2) 2 stage main drive.

It's likely that he has a gyro controlling an esc that drives the tail motor.

Interesting idea, wonder how well it can hold the tail under various loads.

Most are micro- / mini- helicopters (Blade MCPx and a few like that). I've never seen it on the larger helis. I would guess because the motor weighs too much to be a benefit. No flybar either. The picture shows a swash (with anti-torque guide) & main grip links, I would assume it is full collective / cyclic and uses an FBL gyro. As a home-made helicopter, it would be interesting to see it fly. |
