I'll be doing the same.... RX pack atop the forward 6s pack... That's the plan anyhow... Kinda got hung up $ wise.. Still got cyclic servos & packs to go.. Could use my 6s packs that I use in the 550... Anyhow.. Battery tray is on the way.

Freeko, what's that pack beside the Brain running... Surely not the FBL unit & servos?!?!?!?

Pretty sure that's the reciever pack. It's for all the electronics. He's not running a BEC. I run the same setup, just have the lipo in a different spot.

When you run a Kosmik the BEC is spectacular. No need for a separate BEC.But they do reccomend a sort of "backup buffer" just in case

Excitement! Just got home and had a box from FBL Rotors waiting on me... My trays... To mount the female clip on the front of the bottom plate, I need to drill 2 small countersunk holes? Seems the right method to me... That right? I did have to sand down the front edge of the bottom plate a tiny bit to flush the clip and allow it to lock.. No biggie.. AWESOME! Big thanks to Ralph for the quick shipment! Love it!

Well.. Gonna pop the holes in the bottom plate from the top for the screws to the clip using a bit the same size as the screw... Then a larger bit to give me a counter sink so the screw will be flush with the top of the plate. Post up if I'm doing it wrong.. T minus 1hr!

I did start a photo album on this build... most of it is dry fit with the exception of the sub assemblies... head, tail, tranny.... I did grease and thread lock all of that stuff as well as the counter sunk spots of the various plates. As far as the mounting of the clip for the tray.. pics are in the album. Went pretty smooth... I almost botched the counter sink.. used a bit smaller than I should have.. but all went good. I did use a small... small amount of epoxy inside the clip where the screws go and between the bottom plate and clip. I had to sand the front edge of the bottom plate flush with the clip too.. just a little bit.. no problem. I believe if you have any build experience this was beyond simple... just gotta do it. pleased with it. heres a link to the album.

I weighed the machine with everything I have in it... I got the servo & iKon weight and added it all up... I'm look'n at around 10.5-11lbs all up weight without blades.... How's that in comparison to those of u with the E7SE? I was think'n I'd be a pig.. But I believe I'm about on par??????

Sorry bro, hadn't checked in for a while. That is a little 450mah buffer pack for the Kosmik BEC. I charged the pack to 4v/cell and run the BEC at 8v. The Kosmik maintains the battery and if anything happens to the main flight pack or to the Kosmik in flight I have enough power to auto safely
