The consensus is worth the paper it is printed on since we really have no idea. The schedule seems to be slipping about 1 month every month right now.

I'm content to wait until Jan gets everything right. This is a hobby and I don't want to waste time being anxious over something I have no control over.

I have plenty of other things to play with while I wait.

+1

Although, I must say I'm starting to get nervous about not having one for the 2016 IRCHA Speed Cup. The DS is going to have to git 'er dun again if not.

Happiness! Not many courier companies working then, but I am sure a late XMas present to me from me will go down well!

I'm in no real hurry since it's winter here. I typically get something to build for a few days I take off for spring break around March/April.

Sounds like if the Europeans get kits this year, then getting kits to the USA by April sounds realistic.

I think theres something wrong about the look of the skids but easy to change. They just look like a leftover from [ other helis] older designs , need something new to fit in .

Do you all know, what servos you will buy for the TDR II?
I am thinking of the Hitec HSB- 9370 or 9360.

You need programmable servos according to Jan.

Normal servos are between 40 and 45 deg each way and you need 55 deg.

The Futaba brushless programmable servos can go to 60deg each way when programmed and are standard 45deg each way. For 3D flight you will need just as much throw as for speed, as the swashplate geometry will reduce throw to the blades due to it's design.

I guess since the HS mentioned are programmable you should be ok if the throw can be increased.

I've got BLS-172SV cyclics and a BLS-276SV tail servo sitting on a shelf waiting patiently.

You dont need programmable servos. Travel depend on servos and fbl controller. Btw Jan done a modifications to head linkage so you can use standard servos.
You may use programmable servos for higher precision, but these are not required.

Nice to know that Jan made it more accessible but on a machine like that one who would go for less precision?

Yes I know most of us won't know the difference but I don't think most buyers are going for less than the best on that machine. At least for the early adopter.

Hi,

Hsb 9360 /70 are also recommanded by Jan for the tdr2. He uses them on one of the prototype.

I've bought them, still not tested but they seem very correct and serious.

For those of us who have been on the list since 2012...

I want strong and fast servos, i don't know if 0,11 is fast enough, therefor I thought if the HSB 9360..... The Futaba BLS 177 would be awesome because of the complete metalcase, but is 0,11 too slow?

In my goblin I have the JR 8925 which is fast and strong, really nice servo for sure....

To slow for what? How do you plan to fly it and set it up. There are a lot of variables

Maybe I am just paranoid.
I don't fly speed, so it's for 3D flying. And today's servos are getting faster and faster. So my JR has a speed of 0,6 at 60 degrees, so I don't know if I will feel a difference using a servo with a speed of 0,11 at 60 degrees of travel.
I just want to buy the right servo from the start.
