Default Terri-bad Crash

Today I crashed. It was terrible, bad, it was terribad.

I was throwing my Mars around over me and my neighbour's backyards, doing some stationary flips and rolls, nothing spectacular. On my last roll, I have no idea what happened, the bird just piro'd out of control and slammed into one of the new houses that they're building.

I have to walk to the other street, walk of shame, head down, to go pick up the pieces. Open the gate and go into the backyard, my transmitter timer sounds. And there she was, lying on the ground, canopy off, blades missing, flybar distended into a pretzel. I find one Radix still bolted to the grip nearby, and the other just beyond a fence, similarly attached to the grip, a piece of feathering shaft jutting from it. The head seems fine, but the dampers are missing.

I took the bird back and checked it over. The frames are perfectly intact, one of the landing gear bases has snapped, the stabilliser is broken, one of the screws for the tail case is backed off and bent. The tail blades have split and the pitch arms are broken, as well as the slider. The main gear is stripped in a few spots.

As I go over the electronics I find the culprit, the tail servo plug came out of the gyros female end. I check the servos, aileron and elevator are fine, but the pitch servo is stripped.

This blows, I had just finished setting up the governor on my Ice 50 and everything was running so smoothly. Ah well, I will just give it a rest for the weekend and start the rebuild later in the week.

Forget the house, my heli! Houses here are all made of concrete, so no, no damage to the house.

LOL, around here I avoid flying my 550 in the park by my house even though there is plenty of room. There is always that little chance that something goes wrong and it goes flying into who knows what I guess. Unnerves me too much.

Man, I am so upset, I finally got this bird flying the way I want, and this. Ah well, I'm sure you guys will enjoy the pics.
