Considering that it's freeware v1.1 it's simply awesome!! I think this has the potential to become very popular. Keep up the good work!
Btw i'm using a dx7 with universal usb cable.

I don't know how many people that own Realflight G4 are going to be using Helisim, but the Interlink Elite works great. I assume the G3 interlink will work as well. You can even use the throttle hold, idle up, and reset switches. Mark, I sent you an e-mail with the calibration and mapping files.

I imagine it's not on your top priority, but I think Helisim would really benefit from some rudimentary sounds.

Helismith;

I just have tried it for 5 minutes, but really like it. The feel is more realistic than Clearview, such as the inertia of the model. Clearview has a bunch of flying sites and helis, but if you have T-rex of MX-400, its great, pick one model and stick with it. Changing model is the worst thing you can do, inconsistent.
I am using a DX7 TX and the Milehighwings cable and it works without a hitch.
Will try it with a CX2 TX and also with VMware fusion in the next couple of days.

Again, great job Mark.

Interlink on g3 works, but I couldn't get the idle up or throttle hold to work, even when I chose the buttons for it. So I used the curves supplied in the sim and tweaked them to my liking. Had to increase the yaw control, piro rate wasn't fast enough at 1.00, so I went to 2.00, dropped to 5 on the expo all the way around and it is responsive. No sound does mess me up a little but it is pretty good. I probably won't use it much except as a standard for video among others, as I prefer g3.5. But I will definitely say it is real good for free.

I put version 1.1 up today around lunch time (11 EST). It fixes the problem with expo rates off.

I have thought a lot about sound, and will do it at some point. I wanted to make this much available before I got into it though, because it'll take quite a while. Also, it seemed relatively unimportant to me, since I usually turn it off and listen to music!

Strange, I have the same one and like I said before the elevator is the throttle?

Did yours work perfectly from the beginning or did it take some tweaking?

Didn't work for me on my iMac in bootcamp. I mapped the controls and they calibrated fine. Calibration screen shows that the control signal is smooth and reading correctly but when I try to fly it it doesn't respond most of the time. Pumping the throttle I got it up in the air a few times but definitely something not working right. One weird thing I noticed was that I had no sound when I later went to fly in ClearView. Somehow the free sim turned off the audio in ClearView. I enabled audio in the ClearView setup screen and it was fine after that.

I have a xp6102. What piece of hardware would I need to get this to work for me. It would be nice as I don't have a sim and could really use one.

I was using the Hitec USB cable with a Hitec radio. Same setup I use when I run ClearView on my Mac. Oh well.

There is no sound. I doubt that it was responsible for turning sound off, though anything is possible. But HeliSim doesn't contain any accesses to audio functions....

If you see smooth responses in the joystick mapping, but cannot take off: you may have throttle hold on. Or, the collective pitch may be mapped wrong, so you cant achieve any positive collective. The left most dial at the bottom of the screen is motor RPM. If it comes up to vertical or past, then you've got enough to fly, and its collective. If it wont move, you either have throttle mapped wrong, or throttle hold is on (red dot, upper right screen) If you're using a real RC tx, you may need to configure a simulator model setup... with linear throttle pitch curves.

Here is a link: http://www.geocities.com/shaul_ei/SmartPropoPlus.html
You need a JR trainer Cord or a Mono cord with 3.5mm jacks on both ends ( it has to be MONO Stereo wil not work) then go to the link above and follow the instructions.
