Default Quick UK tail assembly

I installed the quick uk tail assembly today. Should I remove the blade grips or are they okay loctited from the factory?

All mine has been good, but you can always check by just putting some force on the screw.

Mine came loctited but I know because I always remove every part.

Be safe and remove them to check. Sometimes they also apply to much loctite.

i just bought some from Ready Heli, but for now i have some washers under the tail grip bolts , it seems to take all the play out , now it's nice and solid , i still plan on using the Quick UK tail grips when i get them.

The play is there for a reason, it goes away as soon as you spool up, I really suggest you remove the washers

I dissagre.. trust bearing are no reason for play, yes they will be stiffer when spinning but thats not always true, bought Align 600/700 tail gripp and they had the worst play ever, even worse than plastic stock!!

have ordered some now bearings and shims to c if it possible to fix or just to return!

looks ok if you dont ever tighten it :-)

Got my bearings but it didnt do anything to the horrible play for the align alu grip, same crappy play..

but you can add another bearing under the thrust bearing and use a longer screw, problem is that there isnt enough axis on the spindel to put the bearing on, well fix a 4mm long and 5mm wide tube and it will be fine, use lots of loctite, no play :-)

edit: on the other hand get some others, more safe :-)

Default plastic grips

Not sure if i mentioned it, but i am still using the plastic stock grips.
I think i will wait a while to see if i get any play in the blades , if all holds good after about 3 or 4 more flights then i will wait till i hit the dirt before i change out ,

The stock plastic grips and tail assembly seems better and tighter than the Align metal ones. The tolerances seem better IMO. I did however replace my 700 tail grips with Quick UK ones, and liked the result so much that i picked up a set for my 600 as well. They're more "bling" than improvement on function, but they are very smooth, and allowed me to add a few points of gain without wag.

Please read my last post on this thread,

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=184793

After I took the Align metal tail grips apart, greased them and put back together, they had no play at all, they were nice and smooth like butter with no play .
