Default moves left and backward

just fixed my dads mini titan 325 from a previous crash. I believe I have leveled the swash(used an align leveler, which didn't sit on the swash but was on link rod connectors of swash). blades track good. when I take it up to hover, I have to fight to keep it still and forward. It constantly wants to go left and backward(like a diagonal). this is a flybar heli with futaba 401 gyro and new dx7 tx. with swash level and blades tracking what do I try next to get a nice hover almost hands free??

First trim the helicopter with the transmitter Aileron and Elevator trim controls so it stops pulling / drifting.

For each 3 clicks of Elevator trim. Pop the Elevator push rod link off swash. Adjust it one full turn so as to tilt the swash forward. Make sure you turn the link the right way!
Center Elevator trim.

Then test fly. Do this until the helicopter stops wanting to back up.

Then do the Aileron the same.

Adjust the swash right 1 turn for each 3 clicks of Aileron trim required to keep the helicopter from drifting left.

Make sure you center the trim before test flying and the helicopter should hover almost hands off again for you!

Should fix you right up Ron

Hello again.

The swash looks level, it's not quite!

The answer to your question is yes!

You can adjust the swash links in order to trim the helicopter as I described above.

Take your time and trim it one step at a time as I describe and the helicopter will be great in short order.

Lift off. Land and trim on the transmitter.
Lift off Land and trim on the transmitter until you have the helicopter stable and not wanting to pull in any direction.

Then fallow the directions above.

I am having basically the same problem after fixing a crash. I made sure the center of gravity was perfect and the heli still wants to tip back and try and kill me!

Trimming then adjusting the rods will work, but it seems like a bootleg fix to me because the rods didn't move in the crash. I still have lots to learn, but before my crash, my swash was level and the heli was stable. The fixed swash is level but it tips back.

I wish I could find a solve for this problem!

Remember that the tendency to drift to the left is normal and is caused by the tail rotor thrust, not because of the swashplate.

If the heli is ROLLING to the left, however, you positively need to adust the swash.

On a fly bar helicopter the tendency to drift left is only a problem for people that do not understand why and how to trim the helicopter in flight. Once trimmed you only have to touch the aileron in order to get the helicopter off the ground. Then relax and gently guide the helicopter in flight.

On a FBL helicopter this kind of trimming is not a mechanical set up
like a fly bar. Yes, you level the swash but when you arm the gyro it centers the swash as a starting point. After lift off it's up to the pilot to put the helicopter in that sweet spot so it does not drift. Once the pilot guides the helicopter to a given attitude, the gyro will do a pretty good job of maintaining that
attitude. But it's up to the pilot to put the helicopter in the correct attitude in the first place.
