Default fried FETs and tail mods...coincidence?

I was reworking my tail mod for the 12th time, wondering if I was abusing the wires in the tail case.

Went out to fly.

Smoke came out, tail FET blown.

Got taken care of nicely by HH.

Read article about some guy doing the double tail mod, advising to take care not to short the tail wires, lest one blow a FET.

Ahh... umm.... oops?

Horizon, I owe you. I will make it up to you buy blowing a fortune in your direction. Ah, already did.

Sorry for the possibly stupid question, but what is a FET and if its what I think it is how do you replace it? Just about to go BL myself, just waiting on the motor.

Thanks

It's the little chip on the opposite side of the 3 in 1 from the tail motor plug. It's short for mosfett chip, it's got 3 prongs that solder to the board and I have to admit
Guilt to this same error as well
