Default New 300x owners looking for help regarding servos!

Since the 450x and 300x share the same servos, could some of you please chime in on the 300x forum as to what you are using and how you like it, etc?

A bunch of us would be highly appreciative

Hey MF...MKS DS92A+ and DS95i...they sorted ALL my problems with the stock servos...

This included...wind, never (ever) being able to sort the crazy tail wag (two 450X's)...which drove me crazy TBH...and they don't strip when you crash...just don't lock them and burn them out...

Anyway...MKS are IMHO highly recommended.

If you are on a budget, towerpro mg90, they are analog and metal gear. They are $10.00 or less each and have survived two blade strikes from 4 feet and two crashes from about 25 feet on my 450x. I'm just learning 3d and for me these are perfect.

One important thing to remember is if you change your servos and get a slight wobble you may have to adjust the dial 1 on the ar7200bx. The stock setting on dial 1 is to high for 450 size heli from what I read on the beastx forum.

Have fun, I'm planning on getting a 300x as well and a set of towerpro mg90's for it also!

I still use the stock servos, and they work perfectly well.

You've have good luck with the stockers but did you ever truly get rid of your tail wag...as in absolutely no wag no matter how aggressively you fly?

I considered everything from, alum servo mounts (which I highly recommend - not necessarily to help the tail...they are just great regardless), alum arm, pitch slider etc...even an alum tail case and I wasted hours...even had my gain down to 63%...

Enter the DS95i, 77% gyro...no wag...ever again...

I can only comment on my personal experience with my 450X but mine is "locked" in like you say, at least to the limit of my skils, no matter how aggressively I fly it. Over 180 flights now. Original servos, original gears. Admittedly I've not crashed it but they're at least working good for me. I have a set of Spektrum H3000 cyclics and the MKS 95 series tail that I plan on just installing if I ever strip mine or crash and break some but I've been reluctant to change it with the heli flying perfect as far as I can tell. I fully expect them to break if (i.e. "when") I eventually crash it, but they work great for me and it's locked in aggressively as I can fly it without being completely reckless at least.

Cyclics... many good choices. I went with HiTek HS-5065MG. Metal gear, not as heavy as some of the other choices. Great, fast, reliable servo. Drop in replacement.

Tail- MKS DS95i. Super fast, very strong, very tight. Drop in replacement. I recommend the aluminum tail servo mounts when using this servo.

After this, set the ESC BEC switch to 6V for more reliability and cooler operation.

Chris,

That's awesome that you and Talesin both have had such good luck with the stock servos. Performance-wise, I really liked them. They just didn't like the beating I gave them.
