Any one find new fuselage fronts for the 500E ? Mine got toasted and I am in need of another one. I had a tip over when I looked away for a second to do trimming and a wind draft came and it tipped over. I have not been able to find the front piece anywhere, and I know others have asked the same thing, was just wondering if someone has started to produce them yet. Also, I understand why the vertical stab is so prone to vibrations, its just clear plastic that has been painted. Its very flexable.

Another MD500.... replacement quad head from smartmodel.com after the 1st one decided to throw 3 of the 4 blades in flight. Hardly any damage to the fuselage. Home made tail blades.

Hi everyone,
Got a fuse and am ready to start putting mine together. I'm using a V2 setup. How do these things fly. Do they fly like a 450 or do they have a bigger feel with these fuses? Thanks |

It certainly is new experience building, tweaking and flying scale which is yours and only yours. Try strapping two 3S lipo packs underneath the frame to get the feel in pod/boom.

Nice Job, That is how I do my tail also and I gave me the ability to use foam to lock the tail to the fuse. Im going to switch to a 4 blade head as soon as it arrives and a fan in the tail. ( EC-135)
Nice Job |

I m currently flying a MD-500 from HK the N606TV. The T tail are made of wood and the bottom part of the tail vibrates like hell. i was wondering where can i make an online purchase for the heavier plastic ones?

Are your tail blades well balanced? Even poor balanced main blades can cause heavy tail shake. The fuse may work like an amplifier for vibs.

I m using both stock Align CF tail blades and Main blades. I manage to reduce the vibration buy adding foam around the boom near to the tail opening. The vibration reduced significantly but seems to remain the same towards the bottom of the T tail. Could it be that due to the thin wood used for the T tail?

I've always thought all the nice looking fuse options out there were spoiled by the skids not quite looking right and to scale. But you've sorted it, and it looks niiiice. Was it the rear legs moved aft slightly, and with less forward rake on them? |

Yep, some surgury was done....
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1273070 It seems that the newer Smartmodel Hughes fuselages have the rear skids moved back to around where they should be (or at least the holes for the skids)... http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1332080 Although I dont understand Smartmodel's reasoning behind painting the fuselage without installing the windshield first with that kit. |
