Default 4#6 binding problem

Hello,

I've just received my Barebones 4#6 today from Chinese Jade and tried to set it up on my 2801 PRO. The helicopter will not bind to the transmitter. I have tried reversing the throttle channel and lowering the trim but will still not connect. The Rx just keeps blinking. There are no setup instructions to setup the 2801 PRO with this helicopter. Can anyone provide me some instruction on how to solve this problem? This Rx is supossed to be compatible with the 2801 PRO. The only other thing I can think of is a faulty Rx, but I could be doing something wrong as I have never setup one of these fixed pitch birds before or Walkeras for that matter, as my 4G6 was already setup. Do I set the swash for 1 servo, etc, etc???. Other settings??? Any and all help you could provide me on these birds would be greatly appreciated.

You have to set the 2801pro to 2402 mode.

Nope. Theres a 2801,2601 and a 2401 mode.. Pres the ENT button scroll down to STICK press ENT scroll down to COMPTB press MODE +R or -L until you have 2401 mode showing on your screen then press ENT and your done. As for swash setup I figure you would set it on 2 servo since you only have 2 servos on the swash. Hope this helps..

No,
The cb100 has the older 2406C, 2406A. The 2406A RX is replaced by the programmable 2605A so you can program the CB100.. The 4#6 uses the 2428 rx. You can use the 2609 rx instead of the 2428 in 2801 mode and that will let you get into all of your programming on the 2801 Pro, other wise youll have to bind in 2401 mode if you use the 2428rx.

Walkera's are kind of "finicky" when it comes to binding... You need to line up the battery plugs with the heli plug almost connecting them, but not having the metal actually make contact. The heli should be on a flat surface standing upright. Now turn on the transmitter and as quick as you can, plug in the battery to the heli (you should be able to plug it in quickly as you already lined up the plugs). Don't touch the heli during the initializing and binding process.

Mine are not "finicky" I guess. I plug my battery in first then turn on the radio (2801 Pro). As fot it being on a flat surface I turn the heli over to plug in my batt then I sit it on the floor then I turn on the radio and all works fine.

I finally got a chance to try the 2401 mode for binding and everything worked great. Thanks to everyone that replied. The 4#6 is a dream to fly and a lot more docile than my 4G6, just what I need for in the house during these cold winter months. I always start the battery connector in the slots before turning on the Tx. It's the only way I can get the batt plugged in on time. The eyes aren't what they used to be. Now if I could just get the ##**##**#*%^*@&&**@@** ball screwed into the "tail blades rocker" on my 4G6 (same as 4#6). Any tricks or suggestions????

could you drill the hole out a little and use some CA to glue it in place rather than having the threads hold it in place?

The way I do it is I take my x-acto knife and use the very tip and just cut around the hole on the very top to enlarge it a little and everything works fine for me. The screw starts fine and no need to use glue since you only enlarged the top of the hole.

I ended up trying both ideas. I used a 1/16" drill bit to chamfer the hole slightly and the ball screwed in quite easy. I applied a drop of CA to the threads and the butt end Hopefully this can hold it in place for a while. I've lost two of these on somewhat hard landings. The ball just strips out and disappears. Thanks again for the ideas.

Default Binding issues

I hjad the same problem and was resolved by connecting my heli battery first, put heli onto a flat surface and then turn on your trx. beeps and binds no worries. Make sure you have trx set to Stick mode 2 and put left throttle stick right down. good luck

Thanks 3d-wanna-b for the help...I was wondering as a newbie to 2801 pro just how to do it. I thought it would have a menu of all Walkera products and you just pick one. Never thought of just using the receiver model...but then again how would I ever know to use the 2401 selection for the 2428rx. Is there some source doc for this?

For installing the ball ends, I chuck them in the demel and turn it by hand. It won't squirt away from the chuck when you apply a little pressure, either.

regards,
Bill
