Yep! I received an email from Tin stating that. AND........I received my HeliX conversion kit in carbon fiber yesterday! I will start the conversion build later tonight.

How did you get carbon fiber? Mine came in g10. Just got it a couple weeks ago. It did have the full size servo cutouts for the throttle. I don't really mind the g10 but cf looks a lot nicer.

G10 flexes a lot in the front though. I had to add 2 additional frame supports to tighten things up.

I emailed Tin and asked if the conversion kit was available in carbon fiber. It is, but he has to wait for an open slot to change over to carbon fiber. Then there's the added cost for the carbon fiber…$80.00. I had to wait about 2 weeks extra for Tin to cut and ship the kit.

Carey, where did you get your measurements for the swash to servo linkages? when I set mine up like that they were way off. I had to use the factory lengths per the 700N manual of 34.2 where you measured, and a center to center (link hole) of 67.2. when I made them up like that, it was perfect.

I am not criticizing at all, please don't think that. I am only trying to understand where the differences come from. did they possibly make a different length mainshaft or something?

the throttle linage was perfect. and I know you put approx. that length on there, but that's a huge difference...lol...the only thing I can think of is a different mainshaft, or the design moved the location of the servos. but looking at your pics they all look just like the kit I have.

Hey, I just setup what made sense.

This was built from an older kit so knowing Align they very well may have changed the main shaft length since then. Hard to keep up with those guys

the mainshaft just had to change man. because looking at your pics, your follower arms are level (or close) at 0 pitch. where mine were literally at a 30* angle going up. Align is funny with changing parts man....I wish they wouldn't do that, bc it makes it very hard to order replacement parts....lol

like a freaking champ buddy! as far as conversions go, this is my favorite at the moment. I have still not received my goblin conversion, so I cant compare. but as far as an align conversion, this is the bee's knee's.

I am actually about to maiden a prototype HelixHeli kit this weekend. it will be at IRCHA (provided I don't bury it on the maiden...lol). you should come check it out. has more room for electronics. better gear ratio for 3D flight. more frame supports/stiffeners, even has one (frame stiffener) to keep gear mesh ideal even with high powered applications.

geometry on this kit is much better than others that I have seen as well.

I will do a build thread and review of the model after IRCHA.

When are you planning on arriving at IRCHA? I would like to meet up with you and see your prototype! Not to mention putting a face with a name!

Two more questions. Is the conversion available in CF, and can a removable pull start be used with it?

yes the kit is available in CF, for an additional fee, I think its like $80 or so, I may be wrong there though. all of the money is in AUD, so I get lost in the transfer, I just paypal whatever paypal tells me to...lol

yes, the removable pull start can be used with any kit that accepts an RC motor that I am aware of. the pull start just pulls out the bottom.

you are talking about the pullstart for the RC version and not the removable pulllstart for the PUH, right? this kit is for the RC style motor and the PUH will not work. century is about the only company that uses the PUH anymore.

New to gassers. Didn't know if the RC format engines had removable pull starts or not.

normally they are not operationally removeable. either you leave it on or remove it

Century came up with a removeable pull start setup for the RC format, available here: http://centuryheli.com/products/prod...?prtnm=HWC2103

you have to "Mod" the pull start to be removable, or use the part carey listed. raja detailed somewhere how to "mod" the pull start, I do it that way to save weight. by installing M4 studs in the bolt holes, installing fuel tubing over the studs, and drilling out your pull start bolt holes to hold tight on the fuel tubing. I just don't remember exactly what diameter you have to drill them too....

you may want to wait and see this new design that is coming out. I just built a prototype kit and flying it now. it will come with a new machined bell and clutch, and top start. also have a better gear ratio for 3D flight......but you can buy the clutch at daves discount motors....

similar to this one.... http://www.davesmotors.com/tourex-bi...mm-clutch.html this one may work, I don't know, but the one others are using looks kind of like this but without the aluminum shoes...

Oh...really? Got my frames already from Tin but have only limited time for the build so progress is very slow...thanks for your reply
