Default X5 Main Blades

Hi!

I just got my Gaui X5 and start building it tomorrow. I bought Edge 553mm main blades from 3D Masters and asked from "Gaui Team" (or whatever that was...) that will those fit to X5. They say that it should be okay.

In the box it says:
"Main rotor blades 500mm to 530mm"
So my Edge blades are 23mm too long?

My setup:

Cyclic: Savöx SC-1257TG
Tail: Futaba GY520 + Savöx SH-1290MG
Motor: Scorpion 1820W/910KV
ESC: Gaui 100A
Main blades: Edge 553mm

I think they are too long in stock form mate They will hang over the tail blades and run a big risk of touching. I use the Edge 553's on my other Gaui's and love them and wish i could on all my helis. If you really wanted to use them,,, get a hirobo scedeau boom, cut 30mm longer than stock X5, arrow shaft for TT and a longer tail rod.

To be straight up,,,, the X5 is a rocket with the stock 500's. We'll have to hit up Edge to start doing 520's

Okay, thanks a lot!
I will try X5 with those stock blades. Have to try to sell these 553mm blades for someone who has Align 550, I think those will fit for it.

It is strange that I could not found blades like 500-530 from 3D Masters, there is only some 425 and next one is like 600mm..
Same on tail blades, found only 75mm and 92mm, but not 82mm.. But that man in Gaui tent told me that those stock tail blades are very good... Hard to believe but let's see..

I just dont want to crash that becouse of some crappy plastic blades.

ps. sorry my bad english

Johnny, have a look at my vids... that is a total stock setup,, blades and all.

550's will fit alot of helis. Hurricane, logos, outrage etc etc etc

KDBB make 85 tail i'm sure.... funkey aswell. Just have to look around. So far for me,,, the tail has been rock solid on the X5. Actually the best tail i've had on any heli

I also bought a Gaui X5 at 3D Masters last weekend. I also got some 503 mm Maniac blades, as I didn't realize kit came with some pretty nice CF blades. I put on some bright yellow Outrage tail blades, as I like a visible tail. The Outrage blades have the same length and root width, but they do have a bit more surface area.

The stock tail blades seem pretty okay - they look and feel fairly similar to KBDD blades IMO. Both the Gaui and the KBDD tail blades seem a bit less flexible than the Outrage ones I put on.

I think 85 mm tail blades (such as meant for the Thunder Tiger) should work well to - however, I think 92 mm blades may be a bit too much.

My mate is sponsored by Edge and asked to see what's the go with the 523's
This is the response he got for me.
Quote:
It is true that we are working on a 523mm blade. The FBL version will be the first to be availible then the FB will follow.. I do not have a timeframe at the moment but I believe we will start getting small numbers over the next month or 2.

Hope this helps.

The difference between FB and FBL blades is the FBL blades are slightly heavier at the tip and will therefore give a little more stability for a FBL heli.

but you can use FB blades on a FBL heli and the other way around to if you want. all of this just might come down to personal preference as a lot of other things in this fine hobby of ours.

Feel free to correct me or add anything. (i know you will anyway)

Anybody heard anything about the SAB 530's? They are listed on SAB's site but I can't find them anywhere?
