Default Nitro throttle marks

How are the three " hover" marks on the carburetor used in tuning or throttle setup?
There is one mark for wide open throttle and one for closed throttle positions.......how are the three in the middle utilized?

YS .56 used, but others marked the same.

I normally use the middle mark for geometry purposes just to make sure I have full travel from closed to full throttle. Depending on the governor you're using, in flight the throttle will probably never get to half throttle.
