Turning the higher HS with the Quickdraw Pipe, Mitch prefers to fly the Align 690's

I'm using
Radix V2 710's with 105 SAB tails.
I can do anything I want to do with the machine at 1750 head speed, but if I want faster, more aggressive or whatnot I'll go up to 1900 tops and that's it for my style of flying. -=>Raja.

Zenoah engines make more torque at 13,500 and below. If you rev it over 13,500, the head speed will decay more with high collective/cyclic loading. The 690's decrease the engine load.
As with any heli, it is pilot preference. I think a fair general observation is that pilots that run lower HS lean towards the 710's while if you want to rev it up and like quicker cyclic and collective "pop", 690's are a better choice. I like to rev 'em up, so 690's are my choice. I have run a few sets of Align and they are OK. The Radix or Edge seem stiffer for better response. The FB blades work real well since a gasser is already very stable. Edge FB blades have come down significantly in price and happen to be my favorite ones |
