More picture....

Added tube spacers in the wing mounting holes. I didn't like the compression when tightening the two wing mount screws.

Very very cool.....

I do have one question though........ It doesn't look like you have enough room between the pool table and the window for a pool cue. And don't you worry about balls going through the windows??
I have been arguing with the wife about getting one (a pool table) and she says we don't have enough room. I told her that we have 4500 sq ft....I'm sure I can find room.

They also make great building tables.

I used this Brunswick online Space Planner...
http://brunswick.icovia.com/icovia.aspx

Room Size Requirements..
http://www.brunswickbilliards.com/he...uirements.html

Even going by their recommendations the fellows that put the table in gave me a little more room from the walls. The closest wall... the one with the window is 57" from the edge of the table. It works out great with full size cues. The window isn't as close as it looks. Only the end of part the window is in line with the table. The only complaints I have is the balls put dents in the wood floor.

Remember all of this stuff gets covered up inside the fuselage once all flight testing is complete.

BTW: I chose Futaba gear because I like the simplicity of the system and the reliability of FASST.

Checking CG. It's perfect!

Default Flight Control Description

Quote:
As conversion takes place the Helicopter Mode Controls transform into Airplane Mode Control.

Aileron is accomplished with differential For/Aft cyclic of swash plates.
Elevator is accomplished with For/Aft tilt of both swash plates.
Rudder is accomplished with differential Collective Pitch of both swash plates.
Speed control is accomplished with symmetric Collective Pitch change of both swash plates.

In Helicopter Mode swash plate movements are:

Roll is accomplished with differential Collective Pitch of both swash plates.
Pitch is accomplished with For/Aft tilt of both swash plates.
Yaw is accomplished with differential For/Aft tilt of both swash plates.
Vertical control is accomplished with symmetric Collective Pitch change of both swash plates.
There is also a pitch governor that reduces pitch as power requirements exceed motor capability. This only engages in airplane mode and only above a preset rpm.

Quote:
Explanation:
During conversions collective pitch is dependent on airspeed. As the ship converts the controller will intentionally over apply collective pitch. When the pitch governor detects RPM below the set value it will pull back collective pitch to prevent a bog. As airspeed increases the governor will allow higher airspeed. To effectively tune this setting an on board watt meter is necessary (max continuous of 400 watts).

All the mechanical components in your "V22 Osprey" are awesome looking.

Thanks for sharing your build and all the great pics with us.

You are all welcome.

I got the thing powered up the other night. Got all the latest firmware and software loaded along with the controller settings.
The nacelles are tilting. Got them on channel eight using the slider controller on the side of my 12Z. Need to do some adjusting of the nacelles. Got the ESC's programmed. Only thing left to do is set up the gyros. Waiting on the USB link for the GY520's to make that job a little easier.

yesterday i was standing outside prepping some canopies when i could feel this dronning sensation. Kept looking across the sky cause i'm near the approach to miramar. I noticed it getting less intense and finally spotted what it was, a pair of v-22's at 5k feet. couldn't believe how loud in a different way it was.

Cool model, can't wait to see them all come to life. Do they fully support parts like a helicopter to crash and fly or is this a one shot gig?

Looking great. I thought about Sunday morning when 2 Osprey's flew over our field. Keep up the excellent work.

I'm in the critical phase of setting everything up. I had to put things a side for the Christmas rush. I'll be back on it shortly.

Great looking kit. Does the kit come with the main blades? The website isn't clear on that fact.....

Thanks for this build thread I am anxious to hear your opinion of it's flight handling. Looks great on the videos.

I've got $2600 total in it. That is the full fuselage version. Yes, it does come with carbon fiber main blades.

Hoot,

I have the kit and started my build. I am confused by the instructions for the rotorhead.

o-rings and thrustbearings are included in the kit (for the rotorheads), but are not mentioned in the instructions. Also if assembled per the verbiage of the instructions, (three standard bearings only per blade grip), I get some binding on a couple of the blade grips against the rotorhead if the locknut is fully tightened. It seems a narrow washer should be used between the innermost bearing and the rotorhead.

Finally the drawings in the instruction show an unnumbered washer between the outermost and center bearings of the blade grips, but no washer is included in the kit.

How did you assemble yours?
