hello guys
For those of you running 12s. I'm headed on a trip surfing and I'm looking to run around an 1600-1900 rpm range to film my friends surfing with a Go Pro.
I'm going to be running 625's with a 560kv motor 11t pinion (preferably 12t so I don't have to order one...trying to do this on a budget with stuff I already have). I want this thing to be floaty and do nice auto's and slow 3D (b/t filming )probably Governed at 70-80% motor output.

What battery size should I go for. I love the weight and price point of the 2200mah 12s or the 3000mah 12s but would this also kill flight times??
I need 7-8 minutes per pack filming minimum
What's been your experience.
I'm aware 500kv would be better for 12s, but I don't have one...

At about 2000 RPM with 620 blades I use about 3500 MAH in 12 minutes of hovering. This is on 12 S.

Mild aerobatics at 2100 RPM I use about 3500 MAH in 7 minutes.

With 3300's I get the 7-8 Minutes you are loking for but with 3800 (GensAce) I can get 8-11 minutes. The 3800 are almost always in stcok and not to bad of a price.

Thanks for the replys.
For $100 I ordered 4 3000mah 6s packs (zippy's from HK) and I decided upon 600mm blades rather than 620's as this is going to be lightweight setup and the extra surface area will likely just reduce my flight times.
Given what you guys are telling me, I may not make my 8 minutes of sport flying whilst filming but we'll see.
I'm also worried about tail authority and wobbles but I'll just have to see how it goes...
I ordered an 11t pinion to get my headspeed in the right spot. hopefully this doesn't equal stripped main gears...

I doubt it's possible to get proper gear mesh with 11T pinion. When I used scorpion 4025-550, the smallest pinion possible was 12T. Otherwise motor touched the frames. Now I use pyro 700-45 which is a bit wider then scorpion and smallest pinion is 14T.

I've put a hyperion 560kv motor on there with an 11t pinion. I had to lengthen the motor bolt slots in the frame but doing so allowed me to move the motor in to get the mesh right. I picked the hyperion off my ballistic b/c it has a smaller diameter than the scorpion and allows the 11t without hitting the frame brace.
I ordered the tail speed up pulley and the soft dampers (80 and 85D) and i'm running 95mm tail blades. Im going to mess with it to see how slow I can get. The drive train on this thing is almost silent so could be a really quite heli around 1700rpm

Alright here's an FPV video with my furion.
I put the speed up tail pulley on it with the stock tail blades. I'm running 1600rpm in this vid which will also do pretty nice 3D, at 1700-1900 rpm. I had to mess with the Go Pro cause I'm still getting some vibes but this is about as good as I could get it.

Nice, appear to have no vibration at all for the GoPro.
Did you just stick the GoPro mount to the side of the frame using its own tape?

This one I mounted on the front of the battery tray with the go pro mount. Then I stuck a roll of thick two sided tape between the battery and the go pro and pressed the battery into the back of the tape to make it tight against the go pro, then strapped it down. This prevents the Go Pro from shaking which it did on all the other mounting options I tried.
Still, this doesn't look as good as some video's i've seen shot from the side of a dirt bike...I know there is a way to get a better shot.
I'm shooting 720HD 60fps in this video

That's impressively smooth. I have tried several mounts on my synergy E7 and none have been that smooth.

Nice and smooth flying. 1600 head speed. That was nice.

I can't quite follow what you're saying. Can you post a photo?
Thanks
