Default Microbeast Locks up in Receiver setup mode

I have the following issue with my microbeast.
When I hold down the Beastx button during power-on I see Solid Purple led and flashing Point A, the unit will not allow me to cycle the status led off. It only allows one button press that takes me to solid red and Menu point B flashing. At this point the unit does not respond to additional button pressing. It stays locked at Solid red and flashing menu point B. At this point a poweroff is needed.

Reference( Receiver Type Setup page 21 Microbeast manual)

Spektrum ar7000 is Bound and all cables are connected to the BeastX as per diagram on Page 14 of manual.

Not sure what has happened here and I decided to test the Heli with a different FBL system to rule out some hardware anomaly. I installed a mini VBAR from one of my other Heli's and was able to compled install/config without issue.

TREX600
Microbeast
AR7000 with SAT
DX7
HW 150amp esc
CC BEC Pro

Has anyone run across similar experience with the Beastx
Not sure where to turn from here. The unit has performed flawlessly for several months on my TREX600.

Thanks for reading thread.
Any help is appreciated

You don't need to hold down the button at power-on for a "standard" reciever. That is only for a stand alone sat rx. Page 24 of the manual (V3). The V2 manual is not as clear, but factory default is "standard". Try powering up without holding the button and see if things are working OK. If I'm mistaken about this someone will surely chime in.

I jacked things up by going into the Receiver setup menu and making a change. Now I can't get the Beastx back to Factory default setting.(standard receiver)

It was working fine for six months, I should have left it alone and now
I'm looking at either shipping it to Germany or not sure if Horizon might be an option..

I'm using a battery pack to power the Beastx thru the SYS port to troubleshoot.
I hold down the black button and plug power in. I wait 10 sec and release the black button. this allows me one more button push which locks the unit at Solid red and flashing menu point B.

At any rate thx for your feedback.

Inside the v3 manual I read this when you are at the point above:

"In order to change the type of receiver, press and hold the button for about 2 seconds. The Status-LED will light in the next color or eventually flash. Repeat this as many times as required until the Status-LED matches your receiver type."

Can you press it for 2 seconds and cycle the Status LED through all the colors?

Are you sure you are in receiver mode?
You say pressing it for 10 sec but the manual doesn't give that info.
Have you tried this?

"To get into the receiver menu press the button on the MICROBEAST and hold it down while you turn on the receiver power supply. The yellow menu LED A should now be flashing and you can release the button."

From what you have said, I'm not convinced it is a bad unit. Try Helidude's suggestions by holding the button less.

Hello, Helidude

For some reason it wont enter receiver mode. I hold down the button then plugged in power. 2sec release with flashing LED position A, pressing button here brings Solid red status and led scanning H thru N . next press of button , Flashing Purple, next press flashing blue with points A and C.next press No status light with points A and I lit.another press back to Solid red status and scanning H thru N..

Very strange, It's currently at VER 2.0 Firmware.

Ah, you're running v2. Sorry I didn't catch that one.
The info I give is from the v3 manual.

You have to take a close look at the the v2 manual.

What I read in v3 is that you must have NO power connected, then press the black button and keep it pressed while you connect power. (Make sure with the NO power, ALL cables are disconnected. Todays electronics need very little leak voltage from some cable to see a bit power.)
Then release when the yellow menu LED A starts flashing.
Now you are in receiver mode.
At this point the STATUS LED will tell you which receiver is currently chosen.
Don't use the rudder stick to change it but press the black button for only 2 seconds to cycle through all the options.

But please check if this procedure is valid for v2.

I disconnected all the cables and gave another try. That was it, I was holding down the button for too long an interval and it was not entering the Receiver menu. Well I was finally able to change it back to default setting (standard receiver). That's the last time I try experimenting with the receiver type setup.
I thought I was looking at a couple months of waiting for a replacement from Alemania

Thanks for the help and advice, I was getting frustrated troubleshooting it..:-)
