Default cannot bind trex 250 dfc plus to spektrum satellite

I recently had a hard landing and lost my satellite. After repairs I attempted to bind my new dsmx satellite and I've had no luck. I go through the proper steps and my satellite holds a steady solid light but my mrs bind light remains red. I've tried many times to bind but no luck. I got the first one to bind after about three attempts.
It's just baffling that the satellite appears to bind but the mrs unit refuses to acknowledge the bind.
Anyone ever ran into this before or might have some idea what the problem is?

Thanks
PS: I am holding the set button on the mrs unit during the bind process.

I know from the Spartan forum that Spektrum have changed the bind process slightly. Angelos had to release an update for the Vortex firmware to have it accept the new codes the satellites were returning.

I don't know if that's the issue here, but it might be worth trying to bind in DSM2, or borrowing another satellite to test if you can.

I'm thinking it may be my 3gx controller. I found one on ebay for $70. I'm going to give it a try.

Hi, I couldn't bind a spektrum satellite connected to 3GX lately.

What I did was bind the satellite while connected to another receiver (eg Ar7000), completed binding then plugged the satellite into 3GX and all worked well - it's going fine since. Might be worth a try, i've heard of others having trouble binding to Spektrum satellite connected to 3GX (in another thread I started I think). Thanks.

Then I'm guessing the satellite is busted?

Well if the satellite isn't binding on either the 3GX or on a seperate receiver then I would guess the issue is most likely your satellite? (given that you didn't crash your TX, and even though the satellite is new - it has never worked for you right?)

I agree, if you've tried binding elsewhere the problem sounds like its the satellite. Which could be firmware as I mentioned above, or a bad cable, or (less likely) a faulty satellite.

+1 sounds like the sattelite. If the sattelite doesn't bind on a normal receiver, it could be broken.

The sattelite did bind on a spektrum reciever. I think it's the gyro. I got a new one coming. I'll keep you posted.

Default still no bind

Ok, I've replaced both the gyro and the satellite. Still no bind. I even tried to create a new model on my radio.
I can get the satellite to bind but the bind light on the gyro blinks red. The status light holds a solid green light but no bind.
I'm at my wits end. I don't know what else I can do short of buying a spektrum gyro, which I don't want to do.
Has anyone else had this problem? I need help!

Thanks

If its a new gyro, can you contact customer service. That sounds like an incompatibility to me.

The only other thing I can think is a cabling issue. Did you swap the cable as you replaced the parts?

I bought the gyro off ebay. I'm pretty sure it was a new take-off part.
I did change the cable. I've done everything I could possibly do that I could come up with. I've run out of ideas. My last idea is to get get a spektrum ar700 receiver. I just hate to have to spend another $150 just to fix this thing.

I wonder if a cheap Lemon or Orange satellite would be worth a shot?

OK Guys, figured out the problem. I'm a dumb ass. I had the wires plugged in wrong. I had the black wires facing up. Turns out I had them backwards. I got it all fixed now. I didn't realize you could plug them in backwards.

Thanks all!

Take your time, it's a hobby, there is no need to rush in a hobby. Watch all the setup videos as much as you can, enjoy the moment. Get it right as best as you can.

Haha, well at least you found it. :-)

This hobby is complex enough that I think everybody has a tale or two to tell about dumb things they've done :-D
