Default Goblin Shopping List

I'm defiantly going to be pressing the buy now button on a Goblin 700 when they are released and have started shopping for electronics.

Here's what I have so far:

Full size V-Bar 5 Pro & BeastX (will try V-Bar first)
Scorpion 4525 with Hyperion phase sensor to plug into V-Bar
Hawk 120 ESC
Futaba HV S.Bus receiver

Here's what I think I'll buy:

Futaba BLS255HV for cyclic
Futaba BLS256HV for tail
2S LiPo direct for receiver, gyro and servos
Hyperion 12S 45C stick pack or TP 5000 65C 6S

Anyone else have any times in mind or suggestions? I have ultra sticker shock on battery prices - very open to suggestion here.

I think I have changed my mind on the hump pack. I'm going to run a separate BEC instead off the main packs, probably the new Gryphon Quasar or the CC BEC Pro.

Either use the gryphom or the WR BEC, the CC BEC you will regret, as they fry all your electronics quite often

Sounds familiar
I checked out the WR BEC - looks like a good unit.
Might need to change the V-Bar to a mini one as I can't see any room to put the full size sensor.

their logging is better, the gove seems to be all right from reviews, flys just as good or it did with v2 when I had it..... little harder to tune tho to get just perfect.

idk tho but their new v3 FW really has my attention.

My configuration...

Goblin 700
Kontronik HeliJive
PowerCroco 4535
Mikado VBar
Futaba BLS157 + BLS256
Western Robotics SuperBEC

This configuration already reached 11,5KW peaks in the TDR I had, we'll see how the Goblin performs. Keep it coming SAB

Using a separate battery for servos or straight off the flight pack?

I'm not really sure right now... basically as written I already have the WR SuperBEC for up to 14s and a custom BEC for up to 16s is coming until I get a goblin. Maybe with a buffer pack as backup. But it really depends on how much cells I'll use and weight... I'll try to stay as light as possible.

Xera 4530 Ltd
BlS-256 on Tail
VBar Full Size
ESC - Jive 120V or YGE w VBar Gov - need to see size for electronics
BEC - If not Vbar WR Super or will look at Gryphon, not impressed with WR Super
Cyclic Servos- I have BLS-451 sitting here but I think on Direct to swash I need to look at HIGH Torque. Maybe 8917HV's they have tons of torque or even 8717's with Jive BEC. I have BLS-451 but do not think enough torque for this setup

Order in but I still need to decide on most of my setup.

Vbar or Skookum (I have both in heli's now)
Hawk 120A - ESC gov
Outrage or MKS servos
Motor ???
12s BEC or LiFe direct or 2s LiPo regulated or HV

At least I have some time to make up my mind on configuration before they ship.

Nice one Dennis, good to hear about another Goblin coming to Melbourne!
I'm planning on running the Hawk, and SAB have confirmed its large footprint will fit into the frame.

I'm also undecided on how to power the electronics. I'll be running HV servos and I have a Gryphon HV regulator ready to go but I wonder if direct 2S LiPo would be a better option.
I guess using a Kontronic ESC with a BEC would remove this question. Why don't other HV ESCs have a built in BEC?

Here's my set up :
kontronics black heli jive
kontronics black 700/52
tp 65c 5000mah 12s sticks
jr hv 8717's cyclic
torx hv tail servo will more than likely run the entire set up on 6 volts.
will also try a 2 cell lion pack if necessary.
full size vbar
All the above in stock. just waiting on release of the heli.

Yep, good to see the Hawk will fit, I will put the CC120HV ICE2 back on the Logo and put the Hawk on the Goblin. I think for powering the avionics I need to make my decission on servos first and that will narrow down how to power them. The other question will be if there is a good spot to fit an extra RX pack in the heli compared to putting a 12S BEC somewhere.

On your earlier post, I guess you saw where to mount the full size Vbar sensor from the photos of Tareq's heli, looks like a good place to put it.

Yeah, gyro sensor mount pad is cool. I will find a use for it even if I decide to use my spare BeastX.
I am going to use HV servos so I think the BEC will be the best option as a hump pack of a good size it quite large and I'm not sure there will be enough room. There are picks of what looks to be a hump pack taped to the top of the boom where it meets the frame...
