Sounds good. Do you happen to know the frequency (or where i can find it) of all the servos that come with the FES super combo? My tail servo burned out when I had my power-failure-induced crash, and I want to make sure that I'm not running my servos on the wrong freq. I have looked all over, and all I can seem to find is speculatory info on these servos. Some think they're Hyperion re-brands. Thanks for any info.

They are Hyperion's, that was verified somewhere... But I run my cyclic servos on highest, 333hrtz???? I just know its the highest setting and they are good. I also run a separate BEC and push 6.0V. On the tail I left it at 50hrtz or stock setting.

I emailed Gaui yesterday and the definitive answer for the stock servos that come with the FES kit is, in fact, 165hz for the cyclics and 333hz for the tail. Great customer service, I might add. Very prompt response. I had to ask about the X7 as well, but he couldn't tell me anything more than what we already know.

From Gaui rep:
If taking GU-501 as CCPM servos, the setting on Microbeast is 165Hz (blue flashing). Do not set the frequency too high, though*servos*may seem to work faster, it will cause Microbeast to be over calculated and even overheat. Yeah. I'm just going to listen to him on this one. I'm pretty sure I had them set higher before too.

Does your rudder servo return to center? Mine does not, it makes no noise but stays put unles you run the stick back the other direction. It works fine on a seperate reciever but does not center when using the BeastX

In rate mode it returns to center, and in HH it stays put.

This is my first build, my other helicopters are all bind and fly, mCPX and two Blade 450 3D's. I picked the X-5 for its size, flybarless and availability. I dont have anyone that flys helicopters locally that have any experience with flybarless, so I dont have anyone to ask my stupid questions too.
How do you guys have your radios set-up? Do you use D/R and Expo along with Throttle and Pitch curves or do you just have different Throttle and Pitch curves for Normal mode, St-1 and St-2? I am confussed because I have read where some of you use no expo and set D/R all at 100 or 120. I am still new to helicopters and the manual does not explain it very well for noobs. I am thinking that the Beastx can control the sensitivity or Expo and all I need is to set all rates where I am confortable and set up a normal throttle and pitch curve like I use in my other helicopters and the same for ST-1 and ST-2, a linear pitch curve that gives -13 and +13 degrees of pitch and 100% throttle or whatever head speed I prefer. Does that sound like I am on the right track? Can anyone suggest how to set up the BeastX and Radio so that the X-5 will be tame enough for me to transition into loops, rolls and learning inverted flight? I am far from doing any extreme 3-D I just want to fly a bigger helicopter as the 450 gets small really quickly and I start to loose orientation with it.

I just let the Beast take care if the expo. I have the travel set at 100% on my transmitter. You're right on track with the throttle and pitch curves. Just make sure you set up your collective and cyclic to ensure you have no binding. I learned this the hard way (with a crash). It helps to trim the elevator servo arm to keep it from hitting the tailboom and antirotation guide at the extremes.
