Default Walkera Genius: 6 axis flybarless!?!

Just found out about this. Looks durable too but I'd wait till the price goes down to MCPX levels:

Yes. I just saw this deal at Wow Hobbies' site today. You can get a M120 and the Genius for $350! I just got the M120 yesterday.

Yeah. Wow Hobbies had a price drop recently. I guess it wasn't selling that well. Unfortunately, I got a bind and fly and didn't realize the 1 cell battery wouldn't work with any of the chargers I have. So, I'll have to wait until I get until before I can give it a try.

I had to get the one with the 215 cause it real good deal before it was like $80 or $90 motor than the stock one which I also bought from them. I'm glad they will have the Genius CP BNF for my 2801 pro. I really didn't need a new tx my 2801 tx I can see in the Daytime with no problems. Some of the guys where have problems seeing the screen in the sun maybe thats why they came out with Devo7 LCD screen.

Speaking about Wow Hobbies, I'd definitely buy from them in the future. The M120D01 was my first purchase for them and they did test it out before they sold it to me. The box also has a sticker showing it was Q/A tested. The test included binding, take off, simple maneuvers and collective testing.

In contract, I bought a 4F200 form x_____ last week. The swash plate bolts were loose but worst of all, the flybarless unit was off center causing the 4F200 to fly a little off angle. Had I bought the 4F200 from Wow Hobbies, that unit wouldn't have been sold.

I always pickup my heli from there store they setup my tx for each BNF I get. Where is Montross. I was at a fun fly saturday at Castaic lake airfield. They will have a fun fly in san diego next month near the Pala casino off the 15 hwy if you are in so cal you might want to check it out. Wow sells upgrades for micro that nobody else has. Saturdays are best day to go thats when the showroom is open. I like to pickup my will calls on weekend sometimes. If you order parts before 9am they ship the same day.

Montrose is north of Glendale - so it's a bit of a ways from Wow Hobbies - but since I was getting the parts for my 4F200, I figured getting the M120D01 would make the trip worth it.

Yes, I noticed Wow has special updates that others don't. They have the brushless kit for the MCPX: http://www.wowhobbies.com/e-flite-bl...p-x-parts.aspx

On the plus side, I got my MCPX charger to charge the M120D01's battery. Just took a little modifications.

Just wondering. For you M120D01 owners, how long does it take for you to charge your stock battery. I was able to modify my MCPX's connector to charge my M120D01's battery but it takes about 45 minutes charging at 7 amp.

You know, for some reason the big 850's seem to take forever to charge, I usually use my adjustable eflite chargers (one of the few things I like better from eflite) I switched all my micro's to the jst so I can swap lipos around. And the 850's take over twice as long to charge as even 650's. I never have gotten too deeply involved in the theoretical side of lipo technology. I don't know if there is some connection between c ratings and how fast they charge. I always thought that high c allows faster safe charge rates but thought that actual charge time at a given charge rate was the same......anyone who knows want to chime in? Ps. Vronny and all you guys that can go to wow, walk in and just pick up the latest walkera and other cool heli stuff......you guys suck. Really, I got some local yocal hobby shops with heli departments tt are like 2 showcases. They don't even know what walkera is. They carry every brand there is.............as long as it rhymes with metite

Default Genius

Hi,

Has anyone done a detailed review of the WK genius yet? I've searched and can't find one?

I currently have a CB100 and am thinking of either getting this or the V100D03BL (which by all accounts is a decent little heli) for my first CP but can't make my mind up lol

Thanks in advance for you help.

The genius CP is great

I have one and love it

Handles great, tracks well, very durable and best part of all

The tail actually holds; and holds well

I am very impressed and pleased with mine.

Thanks for the reply Razors.

Been speaking to MM and they can do me a Genius with a Devo 8 rather than the Devo 6 for £200, its very tempting

So, if one already has a few mcpx, is it worth their while to add a genius to the stable. Does it have a different "feel" in the air. thx

Can I have peoples opinion on the deal MM have offered me please, Genius CP with Devo 8 for £200 (GBP) ?? Does it sound like a fair price? Not including shipping obviously

Would be grateful for any input

I have limited funds and need to make sure I am getting the right heli for my first CP and a good deal

I have not flown mine yet, but the Genius is a pinch smaller than the MCPX. It's closer in size to the MSR, actually it practically is the same size but longer tail.
With the Genius's ability to switch from beginner to 3D mode, it's possibly a good one for a beginner except you'd have to either get the 2801, or get the RTF kit with their new TX.
I'm hoping mine will allow me to enjoy it in the living room as I'm not yet brave enough to hover the MCPX in the living room. I find the MCPX still feels big even though it's small.
I can let you know when I fly it and see how the two modes differ.

Interesting. I got the v400 to hover in my kitchen. I wouldn't want to fly it in there but the gyro did make it controllable. I also fly a 120sr around the same area and its bigger than palm sized - even got it doing circles. I think you will be fine with a micro like the genius inside.
