Thanks DominikM!

Here's my first attempt with a colored gelcoat layup, just out of the mold.

Regards,
Rick

Thank you guys!

Decided to bite the bullet and make jigs for integrating the upper and lower rear fuselage mounts into the fuselage instead of having to hand shape the lower rear wedge mount. Finished adding the decals tonight. Windshield shape influenced by JRAY's excellent design, with comet changed to match.

Regards,
Rick

Default SFR2 Speed Fuselage for TDR

Very nice Rick.
Looking at yours make me want to get another TDR just so I can have the SFR2 fuselage.

That looks great, Rick! Are you going to offer them gel coated now, or just "testing"?

Thanks for your kind words TommyBear.

Thanks Jason. Yours is gel coated, just in clear. I have always been able to do the colored gel coat. The process is the same, but this is the first one I've actually done. The main thing that was holding up a colored fuselage (or carbon fiber) is that it is really hard to see through to see where to drill the mounting and landing gear holes, that's why I decided to make some jigs for the mounts with this fuselage. I think a colored fuselage would have to come with the mounts already done.

Regards,
Rick

Yeah, sorry, that's what I actually meant, colored gelcoat. I remember that you had asked me if I wanted it colored and that obvious issue(not being able to see through for drilling mounting holes. It looks great, especially that windscreen!

Thanks John. Really interested and looking forward to hearing your experience with the three blade head on the SFR2.

Jason, thanks for the windscreen idea. I do think it looks better than the original shape I had.

Regards,
Rick

RJ, are you planning on marketing the SFR2? If so where can I find out about pricing?

Firemedic295 sent me some photos of his TDR with SFR2 wire landing gear. Looks great! Love the new TDR2 canopy scheme. Thanks for sending the photos.

Rick

Very nice, love the color scheme. I noticed a Jeti MGPS unit on the side, I was under he impression it needed to be mounted with the label facing upwards. Is it working well with this orientation?
