Default Brushless Mods Currently Available

The only popular brushless mod that seems to be available now is the HH version.

pjacq, Astroid Designs are all out of stock and have been that way for a while

Is there any other acceptable options out there?

You could pick up a motor spacer ring from Astroid Designs. Then either get servo spacers and frame brace kit from Astroid Designs or a nPFG from Jim Stoll which would serve the same purpose. Then it would be a matter of buying a HP03SPE motor from Mark at tmkarc1hobby.com and XP3A or MX3A ESC from Hobby KIng or the like. All these show to be in stock at the moment. Flash the ESC, solder it up and your off to the races.

Another option is to buy the Yannick frame for a BL nano. They are good. I have three of those tough custom frames and that is why I have three AD frame spacer kits left over.

I have also a couple of wild V1 motors/ Add an ESC you have a bl kit. .

Now the tough part: soldering.-- a few people on this forum can help.

I have been looking for a brushless kit too. How difficult is it to flash an ESC? And is this cost effective compared to the actual kits that are out there, that are just out of stock?

It's relatively easy to flash an ESC if you can solder and have a tool stick. All the parts I described previously total up to right around 48 dollars. You would just need to purchase some wire to hook everything up, shrink tubing and a new battery connector.

Awesome. I will be doing this more than likely. Starting to get quite a few flights on my motor but don't want to waste money replacing it with the same thing over and over.

Any recommendations for a flash tool?

http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...345-ND/1207734. It was all that was available when we first started flashing the ESC's

Seems like every heli store on the web has the newfangled ones available.

Default nano bl biz

Rudy is in business at Megasmicros.com to mod nanos. Single or double brushless.

I sent him two Yannick frames, a used wild motor, a couple of nano boards, a couple of AD tailfin motor mounts, a brushed nano tail, etc. and a complete used nano is on the way to him to be modded and sold.

Call or email Rudy. He can do or supply nearly everything for nanos.

All I gotta do now is to get a couple of sets of Airtime skids to Rudy. And maybe a Jim Stoll set-up...

I have been hearing a few ask/complain about the need for 'One Source' or a kit for Bl nano stuff. Here it is. Get a good nano. You won't regret it.

Yannick frame:

Yannick is a fellow on the other side of the pond who designed a good bl nano frame. Rudy has two of them at Megasmicros right now. They come black or white. I have been using them for about a year already. They are great. Rudy has one of each color right now. I sent them to him to jump start his mod-the-nano biz.

Also, you can get them at Shapeways.com search for yannickflight ncpx helicopter frame. It is a cool brushless frame that is ready for a 5.5mm brushless motor. The servos are already spaced out. The frame is way stronger and tougher than stock. The canopy pins are fixable if they break off.

They are slightly heavier than stock but I won't switch back and I love things lightweight .

Default bl nano

Megasmicros doesn't advertise Yannick frames yet. I just sent Rudy a couple of frames, a whole used nano, a couple of boards, etc to get his BL nano conversions started.
