I did the paint with the little Pactra spray cans. I did the clear coat with a can of Dupli-Color Clear. Don't know how well it will hold up, but looks good after the first flights. The little "beast" feels really solid. I am impressed at the stablity of the bird and how nice it feels. We had a pretty heavy and gusty wind today and it handled it well. I can't wait to put a bunch of flights on this Stinger to see how it performs. As of my first impressions.... it is very good !!!! |

Thanks Warren, this little bird is going to be fun !
The only thing I had to do to it, as far as trim, is that I had to come out one turn on the slave blades double link to track the blades! Everything else was perfect. I am impressed ! Time to fly and have fun ! |

Anyone else have any Gohbee pictures they can post? I want to see what everyone else is doing with theirs.
Shamless plug...... but if you don't have a Stinger 30, just go to www.gohbee.com and buy one.... heheheehhe If you use my field rep number (or any field rep number) you will get 7% off your purchase. This is a good little heli. And folks, post some photos of your Gohbee Stinger and let us all see what you are flying. |

Rob
thanks , the ranger was or is my winter project that went along way better than i thought it would, iam ready for a test flight but our weather here in MN turned cold and rainy and suppose to get snow yet this weekend yt , the machs fit in the fuse with out any mods to the pitch arm , should mention that the fuse is a 50 size and thats what every one said to use without any mods, i did have to shorten the tail tho. scott |

Scott, scale has always interested me and I have considered the Funkey Twinstar 30 for my Hawk Sport. I understand there is very little mods that need to be done to get the mechs to work with that body. (Looking for a simple, first scale bird) I keep threatening to let Big Al order me a Twinstar fuse, but then I seem to spend my hobby dollars somewhere else.... hehehee  BTW, it is cold and raining here today. About 37 degrees with rain..... BUT it looks like the front will pass through in a couple of hours..... I might be able to get my Stinger 30 out and get my engine set today..... I hope! |

Rob give it a go it will also give you a reason to replace the heli you put in the fuse like i did..lol...
My first thought was the Twin Star, Now from what i have read about the twin star is just as you state very little mods or non at all to the pitch arm , From what one gent said is he ended up with not moding the arm and had about 4 deg neg pictch, on my fuse i could easly get deg 9 , On my ranger i can get at all the wireing and fueling with out cutting up the fuse, As for a muffler i used a JR ventur stock muffler. scott |

I continued to rain and drizzle here all day, so didn't even try to go to the field. Sunday looks better.... I hope. I feel the need to burn some nitro !!! |

Flight Update !
GOHBEE STINGER UPDATE !!!!!
Went out flying the Stinger yesterday and let Big Al, one of my flying friends and "much better than me" heli flyer take the sticks. He rang it out pretty good, flips/rolls/tic-tocs/inverted flight/etc. He gave it the seal of approval. Maybe Alan will step in here and give his first hand impressions of the little Stinger 30. Thanks Alan for giving it a 3D test and setup suggestons and help..... now if I can just get my courage up to start trying some of that stuff. |

Loaner Flight Report:
Well after getting the throttle curves and the piro rates tweaked a little, Rob was nice enough to 'let' me have a little fun with his bird. I flew it through a few basic moves and threw a little harder stuff at it and it handled it all well. With a little more tweaking, Rob will have a very nice flying little bird. First impressions are this will be a really good flying bird, especially with the 50 class birds. The handling was good, very stable in the hover. It also didn't seem to have the 'raptor shakes' on spool-up. Overall, I was pleased with the bird and its potential.
