Default Super FP / Genius FP swash plate and canopy repair.

There doesn't seem to be any posts on the Walkerea Super FP or Genuis FP...so here is a start...

I just got my first 4 channel heli and I decided to go with a Super FP FBL. I have the Devo 2402d radio and to be honest I'm not the best pilot. I have crashed this thing a lot. Like every time it leaves the ground. haha. Its easy to get off the ground and I've learned to hover pretty well so far but its a challenge for me.

The first thing that broke was the canopy. Just a little from trying to hook the battery up as dumb as it sounds. It tore a little bit. So nothing major. Then a rough landing and the pin that held the back of the canopy broke off in the mount. So one side is loose now. I used tape to hold it in place. I have a new aftermarket canopy http://www.helipal.com/hm-genius-cp-...-0-orange.html to replace the original with. Seems more durable and costs less than the stock canopy.

After the canopy broke I had another hard crash...because the canopy wasn't sitting right on the heli the swashplate broke where the forwards/backwards pitch servo connects. The servo was fine and the linkage and ball joints were ok so I used a solder iron and spare plastic from a thin guitar pic to plastic weld it back together. I've been through probably 9 battery cycles and some more hard crashes and it's flying fine.

If anyone has questions or wants to know how I did the fix, I will post pics and give some pointers on how to do it.

Also if anyone has tips on any other repairs or anything about the Super FP or Genius FP please post.
