Thanks again for you help Bry.
Gotta get me some nice 5000Mah packs.
The 3300 and 2600 came down warm and puffy!

The bird felt good though!
Some wobbles here and there as the head speed dropped but I still have a bunch of fine tuning and need to go over everything again. Couldn't resist a test flight or two!

25C or higher will keep ya from puffing packs. Look forward to seeing the 600 once you are comfortable with how it flies

Oh its gonna be a fun Bang around Bird!!!

The packs I used today were:
Back yard Flight- Blue Lipo 3300mAh 30c
Front yard Flight- Pulse 2600mAh 45c

Small batteries for that size bird

The Pulse only has around 5 flights on it and seemed to have much more ass behind it.
I was flying a flat 0,90,90,90,90 curve. Didn't come down burning but were warm. Need to go through the bird and check gear mesh etc...

Did you do a build thread on this one? And what electronics did you use? I am getting antsy for mine to arrive, but it is still sitting in customs on the other side of the country. It has been there 4 days now and it still hasn't cleared and I know it will take another week to get here once it does clear

Didn't do a build thread on this one because there are so many good ones out there already. I used Finless Bob's videos and read through a bunch of 600 threads.

Here is what I am running as far as electronics
Enjoy

6s 50000mah Set-Up
Scorpion HK 4025-1000kv Motor
CC HV100 ESC
CC BEC Pro
Align 610's on cyclic, 620 on the tail

AR9000 Rx w/ dual Satellites
KDE Direct MAIN DRIVE GEAR, 164T, MOD0.7

Thats pretty much the setup I was planning to use except I was going to use one of the gyros that are coming free with the kit (GT9 or JY401) and my servos will be HYPERION ATLAS DS 20X TMD and GCD. I was confused on my motor/ESC selection because every time I plugged the numbers into ecalc I was getting warnings. I guess I must be entering something wrong

I'm used to always buying super combos. So when it came to the Chaos 500 and 600 I got them as Airframe Onlys.

Called RCA and told them the birds I have and my flying style and they told me exactly what to order. Simple simple.

As far as set-ups Rovpilot26 Bryan is very knowledgeable and can answer set-up questions. This is my first 600 ad well and the guys on the forum helped me out greatly

Well my batteries are some where over the Pacific ocean right now, I think, so it wont be that much longer as long as Canadian Customs don't hold on to them that long. In the mean time I have decided that I am going to build a parallel charging board for the 6 1 cell batteries I have for my 4 channel. That way when the good weather hits and I can't take out the big heli because I cant get to a proper flying field I can charge up all 6 little batteries at once and go play for a bit.
It should be pretty easy to do I still have a bunch of that plexiglass that I made the swash tool out of.

I am doing a little more investigating on it to decide just how I am going to pull it off. The easiest way would be to make a parallel charging dock. All of the 1 cell batteries are the exact same mah rating so it "should" be safe and I can charge 1 to 6 batteries at a time. The more complicated way would be to make a 6 cell series dock with a balancing plug and treat the batteries as one pack, but then I am stuck charging all 6 at the same time.

My ESC went up in smoke yesterday, but aside from the ESC the damage was pretty cheap, the fly bar and tail boom decided to have an intimate encounter, now they are sitting in a box together. The carbon paddles survived the meeting though

I ordered all the parts needed to fix her up, & some extras.
Got 2 base plates & a BW FBL head coming from RCA (had to make the shipping worth while).
Just cleared Customs last Friday. That order should be here tomorrow.
Everything else should be here by this Friday.
Then I just have to rebuild & set it all up & FLY !!!
Drev
Oh yea - I ordered a Phoenix ICE 100a ESC to replace the Phoenixtech 100a.
Getting the programmer too.
Should be another new learning adventure setting up this ESC. .
