Question BD3X - Light colour

Apologies if this topic has been discussed before. I'm not entirely new to the BD family however this is my first 3X FBL unit.

I have completed my installation and like before I followed the videos to the T (using a 14SG)

The question I have is, my head gyro is currently setup on RD (the rolling button). I have noticed when I move the RD either in positive or negative position the led light changes from red to yellow.

The manual states red to be : Center of head gyro channel, minimum stabilization (20%)
The yellow-orange - Active rigid stabilization > 20%

Now what I'm trying to understand is, firstly what is rigid stabilization? Plus do I need to fly my heli with the status LED showing red or yellow-orange.

This unit has been installed in my Diabolo S where I have used Minicopters BD3X file.

Thanks for your reply in advance

If in red, you are out of what it traditionally called "heading hold mode" or at a very low (almost ineffective) setting. Amber is where you want to be. Solid green is horizon mode active (not avail on 3X), flashing green is rescue (not avail on 3X).
