It doesnt write configuration file on a empty sd. Ordering new card, maybe its picky about the brand?

Hmm.. This is a 2GB card? Maximum supported capacity is 2GB (FAT16).
(If JLog comes through the bootloader w/ a SD card inserted then it is FAT12 or 16 and not 32 (>2GB), so ok.)

Try to format the SD with the SD formatter from sdcard.org.

Read here about the LEDs.

Red LED:
- burns for a second at max immediately after power-up (in bootloader)
(will not go off if the bootloader cannot handle the card)
- should never lit up in operation: indicates a SD hardware error (interface)

Hi, i cant format it anymore its broken. That's 2 cases I know about both with jlog. Have a new one on the way to try. Looks like the jlog can make sd card defective.

JLog can definitely NOT destroy a SD card!

Well.. theoretically a SD cannot be destroyed via one of its interfaces.

Also only theoretically the content of a serial EEPROM cannot be deleted unless commanded. (--> our CVS16 lost its calibration data)

Reality is: it can happen. Nobody can explain it.. It seems to be possible to "confuse" the controller of a SD card, not reversible (format).

By what can that happen? By crazy supply voltage eg the voltage coming from a KOSMIK / JIVE Pro BEC shortly after power-up.

How to avoid that? Do not supply JLog via its "KOSMIK harness" anymore! Use an Optipower BEC Guard and supply JLog from the clean output voltage of the BG. Use JLog's "JIVE Port" for its power supply.

Try reformatting the SD card using the SD card formatter:

Most SD cards are manufactured in China. Very often the cards have a wrong formatting. The sdcard formatter from sdcard.org is the best tool in that case.

It can also happen that you got a fake SD card. Looks like a working one but contains exactly nothing. We (R2) already bought a batch of thousands of these "special" cards. They are only good for one thing: thrash.
