Bad Gyro?
I was going through the set up and re-aligning rod lengths and such tonight. After I got done with the rudder, I decided to try flying in rate mode just to see what it would do. It didn't do anything different. It flew just like HH mode. All I was doing was hovering in the shop, so no forward flight, but I expected some difference. Am I expecting too much or is my gyro not quite right? It does affect the rudder trim when I switch from rate to HH, but that's all.
Gyro settings are 10% on position 1 and 75% on position 2, Spektrum DX-6i and everything is stock on the helicopter. |

You won't see a difference when just hovering. Try flying backward and the tail will soon blow out, leaving you flying forward.
At 10% if expect the tail to drift over time. Increase this until the tail wags and then back it off... Or just put both positions into HH. Rate mode has no value IMHO. 75% seems a tad high, you may need to back it of a bit. Mine seemed to prefer around 67%.
