I should thank you for sending me the 130x board so I can
have some fun poking with it.

About the servo plug. Since it is the same one as MCPX servo.
I have new plug for it. However, the trace to hold the servo plug on
the board has been pull off. The challange will be how to hold the
plug back on the board without the trace under it. The electronic
signal is repairable. The mechanically part is what I am worry about.
I suppose there is some glue can be use on it.

No worry! I'm sure that you will discover some thing else by having the board w/ you ....
I have a stock motor and Spin 8800KV motors are coming...
What ESC should I try?

Coredump, ok, I understand now. Its only the coating that needs removing. I thought it was board material that had to be removed. Very good! Time to order another xp12a!.... Topper, where you at brother, I saw you lurking with your popcorn bag.... lol

Coredump, do I need a converter of any kind? Or can I just solder up an xp12a and have at it?

Nope, the factory XP12a does not read the throttle signal.
It give some beeping error when connected. If I move to other
throttle value, some time it can get it to make a different sound.
But the motor never turns.

I haven't try BLHeli, I suspect it needs some update in BLHeli
to read the throttle signal.

I put the board under microscope, it turn out the gyro should be ITG 3205
instead of ITG 4205 as I first thought. The mark has been erase by HH,
I have to use some hint to read it. It the same gyro used in MCPX.

this is not a problem, you can use an external rx only for throttle channel.

i do that with my mcpx and fly well, then blheli works with ppm signal.

sorry for my terrible english

Great work core!

I'm tempted to pick up a CC Phoenix 10 and throw a 3 cell at it with a governor and power the MCU with the BEC. The question is.. will the motor still live at a decent headspeed.

Stock motor? doubt it kv to high.. you will want a kv in the 4200 to 4600 range on 3s I'm guessing.

If they are 2 pole with a max amp around 6 it would probably be safe to try. But thats why we are looking for alternatives.

Stock is 6300 ish. I think governed 3s at about 85 to 90%.... maybe 4500 to 5000 would be my guess. Obviously pinion selection is paramount.

Hence the governor... but idk about running partial throttle so much.

iirc, liftbag doing this on his 3s MCPx using 2s kv motors.

In his post, he says "The question is.. will the motor still live at a decent head speed." That statement to me leads me to believe that it would be governed at an rpm significantly above the stock 3k. If that is the case, I doubt there would be any longevity to the setup. Keep in mind, Liftbags setup was wickedly overpowered for the weight, disc loading, and disc diameter. That lends to some flexibility.

I should clarify, when I said decent headspeed, I didn't mean significantly faster than stock.

What I meant was a little bump over stock if neccessary. I'm satisfied with the stock headspeed, it just can't hold it well enough when pushing hard.

Update:

I flash xp12a with BLHeli 5.0 then I use the BLHeliSetup tools to select
Input Polarity to "Negative".

Then using the signal spot I found. The XP12A can detect the ppm
signal. When I apply the throttle, the motor actually spins. It is a
walkera 4#3b BL 1S motor. I just give it a little throttle hoping it does
not burn out.

So BLHeli with negative input signal will work on the 130x board.
