Default 325mm pro balancing

Anybody know a good balancer for 325mm pro woodies? All i have seen for the t-rex is the align balancer that looks sorta like a top. Its cheap, but it seems you have to have the blades perfectly parrallel to each other for it to work right. Im looking for one of those "see-saw" designs.

thanks

Here is the HeliMax one I use... its not the best, but gets the job done. I have never used the cheap align one so I can not compare for you...

That is the one I use too. It also lets you check the CG of the blades as well as balance to each other. Just be careful putting the plastic pins on the adaptors in and out of the blades. If you are not careful they will snap pretty easily.

The last several 325 Pro's I used I didn't add any tape. They were just about perfect.

Thanks! Im not even really sure if they need to be balanced. I just built this heli (t-rex450SA) and when i power it up about 1/4 throttle i get a real bad shake/chatter with the landing gear. The blades track perfectly and i never crashed it so i dont know where this chatter is coming from. figure it must be the blade balance unless something in the head came bent from the factory

You might want to check and make sure that your main blades aren't too tight. I had that problem once for that reason.

I also use the heli-max balancer. Never had any complaints about it outside of having to re-balance it before setting a blade on it.

i have about 10 flights on my rex. the i have went through 3 or 4 pairts of blades so far ( ). i had no wobbles with the first couple sets of blades, but the recent 2 pairs i use are wobbling pretty bad at 1/4 stick.
i dont think it is because the blade grips are too tight, but i will look into it.

If you are breaking blades there is a good chance you are bending the feathering shaft which will lead to poor tracking and lots of vibration.

I use this one:

I also have the Helimax, but reports say that the stands can wiggle and cause problems. Some people have had luck with mounting it to a piece of plywood or plexi to hold the stands in alignment.

Have just put a set of 325 pro woods on after last crash and use align balancer as shown in finless videos. Blades were perfectly balanced as delivered so put tape on both blades to keep balance and allow tracking to be checked.

It is still good to check them. And if you get a vibration it's nice for troubleshooting.

Did you apply the tape at the centers as well as ends? If not you would put the cg out.

I have marked baldes with perment marker before to avoid adding weight and still check tracking, it worked quite well, it started to fade after about 3 months though.

I use the Stock Align balancer and a main shaft to get CG. Watch Finless Bob's video on balancing the blades. It's so simple a Caveman can do it

sorry for delay in reply took family up the coast for weekend . I place the tape at the ends as best spot to check for tracking, marking with a permanent marker is a good idea will work just as well
